Happy Valley Racing Tips – Wednesday, May 31st 2023
Race 2: Min Fat Hcp C4 2200m – 21:15 (AEST)
(4) Reach Goal will be hard to beat tonight. He’s 1 from 1 at the trip and was narrowly defeated by Packing Hurricane last start who is now on a 3-win streak.
(3) Gallant Hero comes to Happy Valley tonight looking for 3 wins in a row. He won most recently on the AWT launching down the straight in impressive fashion. Zac Purton has stuck with the horse so he’s a clear danger.
(8) Ai One is in good form and has earned a shot up in grade now. Most recently won in C5 so will need to find improvement to win again this time but it’s possible.
(4) Reach Goal – win

Race 3: Kwai Sing Hcp C4 1650m – 21:45 (AEST)
(2) Splendid Living is overdue for a win especially after being taken on last start in the lead and kicking strongly to only be outrun on the line by Fortune President. He’ll lead more comfortably here and prove hard to beat.
(1) Ariel is the main danger for mine as he’ll settle close in the run. Not many horses are capable of catching Splendid Living based on what they’ve shown and although it seems the same applies to Ariel, he’ll only have a few lengths to make up.
(3) Turin Warrior has filled the minors on a few occasions over this trip. The same may occur tonight although he doesn’t look like a major winning threat.
(2) Splendid Livin – win

Race 7: The Sauternes Cup C3 1200m – 23:45 (AEST)
(6) Heroic Master has been unlucky not to finish closer or win in both of his latest attempts. Hugh Bowman is sure to give this horse a solid chance tonight from gate 7 and I think with even luck he’s the horse to beat.
(7) Party Warrior ran well last start after quite a mediocre preparation leading up until then. Good to see some improvement from him but not trustworthy yet on just one improved performance.
(3) Lucky Eight comes out of the same race as Heroic Master last time. He finished 1.2L closer but had far more luck and gate 1 that night. Tougher this time and much shorter than our top selection.
