Happy Valley tonight hosts a 9-race meeting which presents a few betting opportunities (admittedly a few less than in recent weeks). Nevertheless, looking to continue strong form from recent weeks and find a few winners at short odds.

Happy Valley Racing Tips: Wednesday March 1st 2023
Race 3
This race should be the favourite’s to lose. The fact that 2 class 5 runners are 3rd and 5th favourites in this market shows the lack of depth and adds confidence that (9) A Americ Te Specso can break through here after contesting much stronger races recently.
(12) Happy Trio is one of the recent class 5 graduates competing in this race. He ran 4th last start in class 4 and can improve on that here. He would need to beat the favourite.
(11) Loriz is the other class 5 graduate having broken through last start in impressive style. He has been competitive in this class before and is no doubt past his best as a 7-year-old but could find some form now that he’s managed a win.
(9) A Americ Te Specso - Win

Race 4
(3) Happy Angel should lead as he did last time but with less difficulty this time. There looks to be a major lack of speed in this event which should afford Happy Angel with every possible chance to lead all the way here. He’s also down 2.5kg on last start with Angus Chung taking the ride this time and meets Reach Goal 5kg better after finishing level last time.
(8) Reach Goal was good in the same race as Happy Angel last time. As mentioned he has a big negative weight swing against Reach Goal and is likely to settle further back which won’t help. Still a good chance.
(7) Management Folks is the favourite here and although he may be deserving of it, he’s no doubt under the odds. Last start was good behind Super Hong Kong but prior was beaten comprehensively by Happy Angel from a wide gate which he’ll have to deal with again.
(3) Happy Angel - Each Way
$6.20/$2.30 (1 Unit)
Race 9
(9) Howdeepisyourlove flew home last start after settling last from a wide gate. Karis Teetan remains aboard and rides from gate 2 this time. Expect the horse to settle much closer in the run and win the race provided he shows the same acceleration he did last start.
(2) Armour Eagle should benefit from the services of Zac Purton in this race and on his day is capable of producing a win. Hard to see him beating this favourite but anything can happen.
(3) Majestic Knight beat home Howdeepisyourlove last time but had a super run behind the leader. Won’t get the same gift this time from a tougher barrier and will need to do it the hard way.
(9) Howdeepisyourlove - Win
