Happy Valley gets underway tonight and the card is an exciting one from front to back. Looking forward to tuning in and hopefully providing a few winners! Our best selections for the meeting are provided below.
Happy Valley Racing Tips: Wednesday February 15th
Race 2
(1) Wonder Years drops in class for this event and has looked like he’s deserving of a win in class 4. Class 5 should be an easy kill for him on his best performance it’s just a matter of whether he can produce that or not. Barrier draw and Karis Teetan aboard are in the horse’s favour so I’m confident here.
(5) Sky Gem is a bit of a plugger and rarely wins races but should be around the mark if he produces his typical solid performance. Gate 10 might make it tricky.
(4) Loyal Ambition has been a bit hit and miss lately but with Hugh Bowman aboard from gate 6 he’s far from out of this race. He was reaching some sort of form a few starts ago and can easily regather that momentum and produce a solid run here.
(1) Wonder Years win
$3.50 (2 units)
Race 7
(2) Righteous Arion sets up beautifully here after getting the cash last time. There’s loads of speed in this race which should suit him down to the ground so expect him to be roaring home late and saluting.
(1) Rattan Kingdom isn’t completely cooked just yet but his form could be tapering off slightly. That said, he’s still going well enough to perform well, just might be slightly under the odds for mine.
(7) A Americ Te Specso is yet to produce any magic but could do so tonight? Hugh Bowman is aboard from gate 5 and the horse can’t be discounted but again possibly too short?
(2) Righteous Arion win
$2.80 (2 units)
Race 8
(5) Winning Icey has a lot of my respect as a quality racehorse and a consistent performer. He began this prep with back-to-back wins and has held his own since after rising quickly in rating points. The ceiling could be much higher with this horse and he’s a great e/w price tonight.
(11) Savvy Chic looks as though he’s been completely discounted after one seemingly poor performance. A bounce back to his earlier form would not surprise tonight at a nice price.
(2) Red Lion has seemed to take up too much market percentage consistently for his last few runs. That said, he’s bound to win a race shortly and gets a good opportunity tonight with Hugh Bowman riding from gate 8.
(5) Winning Icey e/w
$6.50/$2.30 (1 unit)
