Happy Valley tonight hosts a decent meeting on the C Course. Last time on this course racing seemed fair with plenty of well-favoured runners in the meeting saluting at short odds. I’ve picked out the best few tonight to have a crack at so hoping the pattern is the same.

Happy Valley Racing Tips: Wednesday December 20th
Race 2: Venus Hcp (C5) - 1200m (21:40 AEST)
(9) Fighting Star can’t miss the start twice in a row can he? Was enormous from last in his most recent attempt but went down as favourite. Favourite again here and can make amends.
(10) Happily Friends is not without a chance here especially with Zac Purton riding. He’s consistent.
(3) Charming Steed closed off well on the dirt last start. Can he bring that form to the turf here? If he can he’s a great chance with Jmac in the saddle.
(9) Fighting Star win

Race 5: Saturn Hcp (C2) - 1650m (23:10 AEST)
(6) Chill Chibi is on an absolute tear. Up in class here but best suited to win out of the field and deserves to be short.
(2) Drombeg Banner is one for minors as he’ll lead and is going for a hat-trick of wins. He’s up in distance which is the only major concern.
(7) Happy Together is a quality animal. He’s yet to be tried at Happy Valley but boasts an impressive record over the mile at Sha Tin. No reason he can’t threaten.
(6) Chill Chibi win

Race 7: Uranus Hcp (C4) - 1200m (23:45 AEST)
(2) Exuberant is a horse to keep an eye out for in this race. There could be plenty of pace on here and he’ll be the one taking his medicine waiting for the right time to pounce.
(1) Jumbo Legend is a recent class-dropper. Capable of winning in this grade and hasn’t been far away of late. Barrier 1 will also help.
(3) Telecom Speed maps perfectly here. Looking to break out of this grade and could do so tonight.
