GWS vs St Kilda Preview & Tips: 2025 AFL Round 24

August 23rd 2025, 4:42pm, By: Andy Rosos

Giants vs Saints Betting Tips

The final round of the AFL season is upon us and the three game Sunday slate gets underway from 12.20pm AEST with an interesting clash between the Giants and Saints from ENGIE Stadium. The Saints sit in 11th place on the ladder but could still have a say in shaping the top eight as they look to spoil the Giants party.

Below, we bring you our best bet, player prop, and Same Game Multi for GWS vs St Kilda, with odds thanks to Dabble!

GWS vs St Kilda Prediction & Tips: 2025 AFL Round 24

Giants on the Rise

The Giants’ spot in the top eight is all but locked in, even though they sit just four points clear of ninth with one round remaining. With the Dockers and Bulldogs set to clash, at least one rival will fall short, but this clash still carries huge weight for the Giants’ finals seeding. They’ve been in red-hot form, winning eight of their past nine, with their only slip-up coming against the Bulldogs in Round 21. A top-four berth looks out of reach, but they could still climb to fifth and earn a valuable home final in Week 1.

Saints Streaking

The Saints may be riding a four-game winning streak, but their recent form perhaps flatters them a touch. Their run has included a stunning comeback over the Demons, yet the other three victories came against bottom-four sides, scraped through by an average margin of just five points. Still, spirits will be high after the massive news that young star Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has recommitted for another two years, making history as the AFL’s first $2 million player. Despite the winning run, St Kilda remains in 11th spot on the ladder with a 9-13 record.

Injury News

The Saints have navigated the back half of the season reasonably well despite injuries, though several key players have been sidelined in recent rounds. Mitch Owens, Hunter Clark, Ryan Byrnes, and Dan Butler will all finish their seasons early. The Giants will be without Jake Stringer, Josh Kelly, and Jesse Hogan, all of whom are being carefully managed with finals in mind. Brent Daniels and Jack Buckley will also miss again.

Giants or Saints? Here’s our GWS vs St Kilda Tip

Pretty easy one to call here given the two teams have very contrasting interest in winning this game. The Giants could improve their seeding in the finals run while the Saints, who haven’t fared very well when travelling to Sydney at the best of times, don’t really have much to play for in their final game of the season. The Giants have won their last three games in a row against the Saints by an average margin of 17.6 points. I think they get the job done comfortably on Sunday afternoon.

Giants vs Saints Same Game Multi

Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera 30+ Disposals - Had just the 24 touches in the win over the Bombers last week to snap a streak of four straight games with 30+. Has been winning the ball for fun this year, sitting 4th in the league for disposals per game at 30.2. Back him to get back on the 30+ train this week.

Lachie Whitfield 25+ Disposals - Sits 9th on that same list averaging 28.2 per game and has racked up 25+ in all six games since returning from injury back in Round 18. Still decent odds to do so again here.

Aaron Cadman 2+ Goals - Cadman has been on an absolute heater of late, booting 18 goals in his last six games. Has kicked multiple in five of those games and kicked two in the win over the Saints earlier this season.
