The market suggests a lopsided contest with Gold Coast a clear front runner with the odds heavily weighted in their favour against the winless Hawks.
Despite their stark record staring them in the face, Hawthorn have faced a tough run of opposition losing out to flag hopefuls Melbourne, Geelong and Collingwood in the last three weeks after a disappointing showing against Essendon first up.
Their lack of ability to put a solid four quarters together has evidently been their downfall but for fans of the brown and gold, some hope can be attached to the way in which they’ve capitalised on momentum.
As for the Suns, who find themselves on the outskirts of the top eight, they jumped out of the blocks to beat Adelaide and Richmond, before stumbling the past fortnight by falling to the Dogs and Giants.
It paints a pretty good picture as to where they sit having been dealt two ends of the stick in terms of end of year projections, albeit a small sample size to go by within the first month of footy.
Match Prediction: With both wins under new head coach Damien Hardwick coming at home, it’s enough to sway my judgement in thinking the travelling side might just struggle in the warmer climate, however you can expect another gallant effort by the Hawks in defeat.
