Esports Betting Tips: Tuesday September 27th

September 27th 2022, 1:55pm, By: Michael Lee

Esports Betting Tips

Our esports tipster Michael Lee is back with more Counter-Strike: Global Offensive betting predictions for three games on Tuesday, September 27. Today he looks at FaZe Clan vs Complexity, Fnatic vs Team Liquid and Sprout vs Bad News Eagles.

Esports Betting Tips: Tuesday 27th September

FaZe Clan vs Complexity - ESL Pro League Season 16

FaZe Clan are the current best team in the world and the defending champions, but they couldn’t translate that status in the ESL Pro League group stage, finishing second with a 4-1 record. Besides losing against G2 Esports, FaZe also lost maps against Outsiders and MIBR, which wasn’t expected.

I wouldn’t say that FaZe’s unimpressive performances in the group stage indicate that they’re no longer a top team, but FaZe have looked beatable. Complexity have not won much this year and were considered one of the weakest teams ahead of the tournament.

But they turned it around and qualified from Group C in third place, which is very impressive considering they outperformed Astralis and ENCE. During the group stage, Complexity won against Astralis, HEET, ENCE, and won a map against MOUZ, showing immense improvement and a lot of promise.

Just as I don’t believe FaZe’s relatively poor performances indicate that FaZe are now weak, I also wouldn’t say that Complexity deserve to be overly praised for their run through the group stage. But the North American squad have looked competitive and might not deserve to be priced at 5.50 for this match.

I don’t expect Complexity to upset FaZe, but they might be able to win a map. If MIBR and Outsiders have done it, so can Complexity.

Fnatic vs Team Liquid - ESL Pro League Season 16

Team Liquid could only manage third in Group D with a 3-2 record, but their underwhelming performance has earned them the easiest bracket, as they only have to beat Fnatic and MOUZ to reach the semifinals. On paper, it sounds like an easy task, but there is a reason why Fnatic are in the playoffs.

Fnatic placed second in Group A even though they lost two of five games against Natus Vincere and Team Vitality. But even in those losses, Fnatic won a map apiece and had their chances against Vitality, which Fnatic, unfortunately, didn’t take advantage of.

With losses against two teams you could consider to be of the same quality as Liquid, Fnatic are justifiably the underdogs for this match, but then there are also their defeats against LDLC and Sangal Esports in GAM3RS_X EU Champions: Fall 2022.

Fnatic have looked good in the group stage, but Team Liquid have shown more and are far more consistent, so I’ll trust them to win the series and cover the 4.5 round handicap.

Team Liquid -4.5 rounds

$1.83 (1 Unit)

Sprout vs Bad News Eagles - Elisa Invitational Fall 2022

Sprout and Bad News Eagles need just one more win to qualify for the playoffs, so it’s fair to say that there’s a lot on the line in this match. Even though either can afford to lose and then face a weaker team for a spot in the playoffs, they’ll likely want to get the job done on Tuesday.

Sprout and Bad News Eagles have played each other with their current lineups just once, at the start of June, when Bad News Eagles won 2-0. But that was when Bad News Eagles were in much better form, so I don’t see any reason to overanalyse that result.

Even though Bad News Eagles have won the first two games of the tournament, against Dynamo Eclot and ENDPOINT, they needed three maps to edge out a win in both affairs. On a more positive note, Bad News Eagles are on a seven-game winning streak, granted just four series ended in clean sweeps.

Sprout are 5-3 ahead of this match with wins against Hotspurs, SAW, DIVIZION, Entropy, Tricked, and three defeats against  Entropiq, Eternal Fire, and Mkats. Besides losing to Mkat, Sprout’s results aren’t that bad, considering they won a map against Entropiq and Eternal Fire.

This could be a very close match, and no result would surprise me. But I would rather be on Sprout’s side of this contest. They’ve done well recently and have looked better, so I’ll take a longshot bet on the German squad to win 2-0.

Sprout -1.5 maps

$3.50 (1 Unit)
