Esports action continues around the globe this Tuesday night with a great slate of CS:GO matchups in the ESL Championnat National: Spring 2021 as well as more matches in the League of Legends Pro League. As usual, our gaming expert Michael Lee is on the case with a full preview and betting tips for his favourite matchups here
ESL Championnat National: Spring 2021
The reigning ESL Championnat National champions LDLC will clash with The Dice on Tuesday, March 23, for the first time since November 2020, when LDLC OL won with 2-1. Since then, both sides have made roster changes, so I wouldn't put too much weight on that result.
LDLC now field two new players in Bryan "Maka" Canda and Nicolas "Keoz" Dgus, who joined the team in January, having previously played for Heretics and K23 respectively. On the side of Dice, their only roster change in the last two years happened not too long ago, when they parted ways with Thomas "Djoko" Pavoni and signed a 21-year-old rookie Charles "CamZ" Guion as his replacement.
Despite the roster change, The Dice have been doing well so far at ESL Championnat National: Spring 2021 and have yet to lose a single match. They enter this bout with a three-game winning streak, with wins coming against MYinsanity (16-13), Kumiho Gaming (16-14) and UBITEAM (16-5).
Although neither of those teams are particularly strong, The Dice are at least in good form, which should give them a fighting chance against LDLC OL. The latter enter this match on a five-game winning streak, having beaten Sangal (2-0), DBL PONEY (2-0), Nexus Gaming (2-0), Ambush Esports (2-0) and UMX Gaming (2-0) last week.
LDLC OL are the better team here, but I don't believe we are in for a one-sided. The Dice have played well of late and if they can show the same form on Tuesday, they should be winning at least 11 rounds.
LoL Pro League
This is a must-win match for Bilibili Gaming, who are in a tight race with LNG Esports for the final spot in the playoffs. Although there is a scenario where Bilibili still make it in with a loss here, for that to happen LNG would need to lose against Rogue Warriors and at this point, I can give you an early betting tip - Rogue Warriors won't defeat LNG.
Suning, on the other hand, are already locked in for the playoffs, with no real way to move up the standings, so they essentially enter this match with nothing to fight for. They're still the better team, however, the lack of motivation to perform could play a factor here.
Stat-wise, Suning are ahead in both GPM and GDM, albeit only slightly with 1838 to 1793 and +114 to -31 respectively. Even their first blood rate (54%) is not significantly higher than Bilibili's (44%), however, I am a bit concerned with the GD@15, which is about 1000 gold higher for Suning.
There is a reason why Suning are priced as the favourites here, but since this is a must-win match for Bilibili Gaming, I don't feel comfortable betting against them. This is a position where you could take Bilibili with a 1.5 handicap, but for me the odds on the underdogs are worth going all in.
LoL Pro League
Even for those not following the Chinese LoL pro scene closely, it's easy to figure out this match should end in favour of JD Gaming. They crush Oh My God in most of the metrics, including GPM (+1869), GDM (+100), GD@15 (+555), as well as KPW and DPL (18.4, 19.7), and while they are not as far ahead in drake control (54%) and are even behind in herald control (48%), JDG are still undeniably the better team.
There is a good reason why OMG are priced at 9.00 and while the high odds might make it appealing to some to take OMG and hope for the best, this is such a lopsided match that betting on OMG is just not a viable option.
There is not a lot to be said about this match, since you can't make a case for OMG to come out ahead unless if you believe JDG will somehow blunder the series and drop the ball. That said, there is a reason why JDG are known as the smartest team in the LPL.
Even at 1.33, betting on JDG to win 2-0 has value, which only further shows how much better this team is. For those looking for better odds, a bet on JDG to secure first blood might be a better option.
Alternatively, you can combine Bilibili Gaming +1.5 maps with JD Gaming -1.5 maps for a multiple that pays out at 2.42.
