Apeks vs HONORIS

CCT South Europe Series #2

Apeks won their first game of CCT South Europe Series #2 on Sunday when they defeated BLINK (2-0) with 16-12 on Nuke and 16-10 on Vertigo. It was their first game since December 18, but their 14th win over 17 games.

Apeks are in excellent form, so I’m not shocked to see them priced as favourites for this match. But 1.12 is a bit too pricey, and I wouldn’t count out HONORIS just yet.

The Polish CS:GO team won their tournament opener against TENSTAR with 16-14 on Vertigo and 16-11 on Overpass. It was their first victory following a two-game losing streak and their fourth W over a 12-game run.

HONORIS are clearly not in as good of a shape as Apeks, but they’ve had a couple of solid wins recently and have a reasonably stable map pool, so it’s not like Apeks head into this match with any big advantages. I still expect Apeks to come out on top, as they’ve proven themselves as the better team; however, HONORIS should be able to do some damage and take at least one map.

Tricked Esports vs Aurora

CCT South Europe Series #2

Tricked Esports kicked off CCT South Europe Series #2 with a victory over INVSN Team, who they beat on Sunday with 16-13 on Vertigo and 16-14 on Overpass. A win is a win, but it wasn’t the cleanest performance from Tricked, so I wouldn’t overreact to it.

Aurora edged past Websterz on Saturday, with 14-16 on Overpass, 19-17 on Anubis, and 16-6 on mirage. Much like Tricked, Aurora didn’t show anything amazing in the first round of the tournament, but we must give them props for fighting back on the second map and their strong finish to the series.

Comparing the players on Tricked and Aurora, I can’t say that one team is better than the other, but if I had to pick a team with a higher ceiling, I would have to side with the CIS roster. Evgeny “Norwi” Ermolin played well against Websterz, as did Vladislav “latt1kk” Vydrin and Aleksandr “KENSI” Gurkin, which is a very good sign.

On the side of Tricked, Mathias “PR1mE” Carlsen was the only player with an impressive showing in the first round, and until I see a bit more from his teammates, I’ll have my doubts about Tricked’s chances to win. At 2.00, Aurora are a clear choice here.

GODSENT vs Juggernauts

CCT South Europe Series #2

GODSENT struggled a bit against Sangal Esports (2-1) on Saturday, but in their defence, GODSENT is a new roster, and they had to play a fairly strong team. On the other side, Juggernauts took care of business in fashion, beating BLUEJAYS with 16-4 on Inferno and 16-13 on Mirage.

Seeing GODSENT priced as massive favourites makes a lot of sense, but mostly if you believe they’ll play as well as expected. This is a very competitive team with plenty of solid players; however, they clearly need a bit more time to gel together fully.

Since the team came together, GODSENT have played just two games, and they weren’t impressive in either of them. Although we can make the same can for Juggernauts, the point here is that it’s tough to favour one team over the other.

Priced at 4.80 to win, Juggernauts seem a bit underrated, and it looks like the odds have been set mainly on the brand value. GODSENT might emerge as a solid team down the line, but at 2.00, I’m taking Juggernauts with a +1.5 map handicap.
