Another big night of esports action coming up this Thursday and into Friday morning! We have a full preview and betting tips for some of the key matches from the cs_summit and the DOTA2 SEA League below!
Esports Betting Tips: Thursday, June 25th
FaZe vs BIG
cs_summit 6 Europe
Faze Clan are coming into the match in a slightly worrying form as they won only two games out of last five played. FaZe defeated only Vitality and ENCE, but lost to Complexity, Vitality and their next opponents BIG. Unlike FaZe, the German squad are entering this match with a seven-game winning streak which includes wins against Complexity, HAVU, forZe, Spirit, Virtus.pro, G2 and FaZe Clan. Although BIG are enjoying a much better form, some of their wins were very close, especially those against forZe and HAVU.
With all due respect, I simply can't view BIG as anything special. Sure, they managed to win the DreamHack, but with so many asterisks to their final victory such as: online competition, every favourites struggling, facing Faze right after they made a roster change,… I just can't be impressed with their accomplishment. If DreamHack was a proper LAN competition, however, I am certain BIG would crash out even before making it out of the group stage.
FaZe lost both of their last two meetings with BIG, but considering they were still adapting to play with their newest player, the results FaZe were producing were expectedly not too sharp. Nevertheless, FaZe had enough time to get all the pieces together should now be ready to take on BIG and claim their revenge.
Team Adroit vs Fnatic
ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League
After picking up four draws in the opening week of ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League, Team Adroit will look to secure their first win on the competition this Thursday, when they will meet with Fnatic. Last week, Adroit played stalemates against NEW Esports, Excration, TNC Predator and T1, which are not all too promising results, considering they will be facing one of the strongest SEA Dota2 teams.
Fnatic are entering this match with a 5-3-2 record from their last 10 fixtures. They defeated Excration, Cignal Ultra. Geek Fam, Reality Rift, Neon Esports, drew with against Adroit, BOOM and Neon, and lose to Geek Fam and BOOM Esports. Last weekend, Fnatic also finished BTS Pro Series Season 2: Southeast Asia third, after they lost to BOOM Esports in the lower bracket finals.
Fnatic and Adroit met six times in 2020. Fnatic won three meetings and lost two, while their most recent bout ended in a stalemate. Adroit defeated Fnatic in May and only narrowly lost to Fnatic in April, which leads me to believe we are in for another close match here.
All of the last three meetings between Fnatic and Adroit were close and considering most of the fixtures at ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA tend to be very close, we have to trust Adroit to show enough to force their fifth draw of the tournament. Bet on a draw!
Neon Esports vs NEW Esports
ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League
Neon Esports played only one match at the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League against Reality Rift, which ended in a draw. Neon will enter this bout with a 6-2-2 record from their last 10, which saw them defeat Team Veteran, Cignal Ultra, Team Strawberry, TNC Predator, FoodFellaz and NEW Esports. Neon's only two defeats came against Fnatic.
Unlike Neon, who played only one fixture at ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League, NEW Esports already have three games behind them. They drew with Adroit, defeated T1 and on Sunday drew with TNC Predator, which are solid results for this roster, especially considering NEW Esports only played seven games so far and have yet to lose a single one.
The betting odds underestimate NEW Esports here. Although they have lost to Neon before, it was a close match and seeing how NEW Esports already defeated T1, and drew with Adroit and TNC, they should be able to produce enough resistance to force at least a draw. Bet on NEW Esports to win at least one map.
