Esports Betting Tips: Thursday, July 2nd

July 2nd 2020, 11:43am, By: Michael Lee

Esports continues this Thursday night and into Friday morning and as usual, we have you covered with a full preview and betting tips for the key matchups of the night below!

Esports Betting Tips: Thursday, July 2nd

BOOM Esports vs T1

ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League

BOOM Esports are entering this match with a 2-3-0 record, which might not seem like much, but their results are very solid. Even though BOOM won only one game against Geek Fam - the other was an automatic forfeit win against Execration - BOOM Esports managed to claim draws against Reality Rift, Neon Esports and even Fnatic.

T1, on the other side could have shown a bit more, but to be fair they did not look exactly bad. So far, T1 defeated Execration and Reality Rift, lost to Fnatic and NEW Esports, and managed a draw against Adroit.

BOOM Esports and T1 met twice this year. The first meeting took place back in April at the BTS Pro Series: Southeast Asia, where T1 won 2-0, however, BOOM got their revenge at the start of June when they swept T1 (2-0) at the BTS Pro Series Season 2: Southeast Asia.

In their last five, BOOM produced a 2-3-0 record. They defeated Geek Fam twice but drew with Fnatic, Neon and Reality Rift. T1 managed a 2-1-2 record in their last five, which includes wins against Execration and Reality Rift, losses to Fnatic and NEW, and a stalemate against Adroit.

Form-wise, there is not a lot to set those two apart, however, I have to mention T1 have played only one game in the past 10 days, whereas BOOM played four. Momentum is undervalued in these online fixtures and since BOOM already defeated T1 last month, I have to trust them to do it again here.

North vs Ninjas in Pyjamas

cs_summit 6 Europe

Both teams are entering this match with only two wins out of last five played. North won against Movistar Riders but lost to Heroic, OG and Vitality. Ninjas in Pyjamas, on the other hand, have won against Heroic and x6tence, but lost against Vitality, Fnatic and the rising GODSENT without winning a single map.

These two teams met just once in their lifespan back in November 2019 at the ESL Pro League Season 10 Europe, where North managed to come out on top with a 2-0 victory, 16-5 on Nuke and 22-19 on Overpass. Nevertheless, I would not put too much emphasis on that match, since it took place a while ago and it was also played on LAN. Both teams went through multiple roster changes since then, so that is another thing we need to take into account.

Even though neither side managed to impress me with their recent performances, Ninjas in Pyjamas showed a bit more compared to North who are not enjoying the online CS:GO. Additionally, North will be playing without Kjearbye who will be replaced by Kristou, which is not optimal. NiP should be winning this one without any significant problems.

FURIA vs Cloud9

cs_summit 6 North America

FURIA are entering this match with a 2-3 record. In their last five, FURIA lost to Team Liquid and twice against Evil Geniuses, but managed to pick up two W against Liquid and their local rivals MIBR. Cloud9, on the other side, are enjoying a slightly better record with three wins from their last five. They defeated Yeah, New England Whalers and Gen.G but lost to 100 Thieves and Gen.G, both without winning a single map.

Even though FURIA and Cloud9 both play in the North American region, they have not yet met on the battlefield. The core of these two sides, however, met back in March 2019 at the ESEA MDL Season 30 North America, where FURIA won with a dominant 16-5 on Mirage and 16-14 on Inferno. Both teams made roster changes since then, so I would not put too much weight on that result.

Cloud9 are a huge organization with respectable brand value, but the quality of players their CS:GO roster fields is just not of the quality you would expect to see. They are getting some wins here and there against lower-ranked teams, but when faced with stronger squads, Cloud9 tend to lose.

FURIA, on the other hand, are thriving in the current online era of CS and while they are not in great form, I am confident FURIA will be too much for Cloud9 to handle. Bet on FURIA to secure a comfortable 2-0 victory!
