Eagle Farm Racing Tips – Saturday, June 3rd 2023
Race 3: Stradbroke Calcutta BM85 1200m - 12:53pm (AEST)
(3) LEGAL ESPRIT – nice ew bet in an open race. He looks to be one of the best map horses in the race with many of the other key hopes drawn wide / like to get back in the run. He comes off a 5-week freshen back to 1200m on a good track at EF, all of which are positives. He profiles well on top of the ground and goes well fresh. Second-up this prep he ran this track / trip and was good running fourth behind THE BIG GOODBYE (since ran second to MISHANI SNIPER) when he did his best work late (nice gap behind the first 4). LS he went super to my eye absorbing a hot speed OSL over 1400m when ANTINO (since won) and co got the better of him late (only beaten 2L, stuck on well). Gets in well after the claim. Go well.

Race 4: Ladbroke Lightning hcp 1000m - 1:28pm (AEST)
(9) RUBIQUITOUS – progressive 4YO who flies fresh and comes here off a nice trial under a tight grip (beat home SHOOTING FOR GOLD). First-up last prep he was caught 3WNC the entirety over this track / trip and beaten less than half a length. He ended last prep at this track / trip and was dominant beating BOOMNOVA, LEGAL ESPRIT et al by 2L (eased down late). There looks to be a hot tempo up front with MALKOVICH, LE PALMIER and ARCHER’S PADDOCK all going forward, and I think this guy can camp right behind them from gate 3 and come over the top late. He normally jumps well to put himself in races and key rivals ATHELRIC and MALKOVICH have to give him 6kgs. MISHANI SNIPER will likely give him a big head start too (he’ll be coming late / worth a saver if they over do it). On the up.

Race 5: Magic Millions Ntl Classic 1600m - 2:03pm (AEST)
(2) FOXY FRIDA – best bet of the day at EF! She’s come back super this prep and but-for a really smart one (CASTE) she’d be unbeaten in all three runs. Did a good job first-up over 1400m at Bendigo when she knuckled down late to score before going to Morphettville second-up in the G2 Queen of the South Stakes beating all-bar CASTE (as referenced) with a big gap to third. LS she stayed in Adelaide for the G3 R. A. Lee Stakes and she won eased down after waiting for the gaps to come down the straight (showed lovely change-up speed / dominant). Gets in well at SWP being the 103-rater, draws OK, Billy Egan retains the ride, and she’s won fourth-up before. Keen!
(4) MEDIA AWARD – is a very good roughie in the race / one for exotics – I think she’s way over the odds at that price. Comes out of the other key form race behind FRUMOS ($8.50) and PRINCESS RHAENYS ($7) beaten 1.3L when she sat 3WWC the trip. FRUMOS had the run of the race and PRINCESS RHAENYS was towed into it by MEDIA AWARD. Overs.

Race 7: The Star Moreton Cup - 3:13pm (AEST)
(4) QUANTICO – next best bet of the day! What a tragedy it was LS when he was absolutely jog trotting in behind them with no where to go. When he finally seen daylight, he surged late but just missed ATHELRIC (ran earlier today) on the wire. Before that he trialled nicely behind GIGA KICK (since won the Doomben 10,000 / ties in with PRINCE OF BOOM). He profiles well second-up, draws a beaut gate, can sit a little closer in the run, gets JMac to steer, loves a dry track, and he’s 1 for 1 this track / trip. If he can reproduce the same TOF and stay out of trouble, he’s the one to beat.
