Eagle Farm Racing Tips: Saturday, June 28th 2025

Race 2: Eagle Farm 160 Years Raceday BM85  -  1200m – 12:18pm (AEST)

(5) He’s Heaven $11.00: good roughie in the race. He’s had no luck his last two when he was forced to race 3WNC throughout and was still there swinging at the end. Before that, he sat up on a hot tempo over this track/trip and finished within 3.1L of SER JOH which ties in with JOHN RAMBO. Draws a better gate and maps for an easier run today, and he gets in well after the claim.

(6) John Rambo $3.10: was a dominant winner three back before failing to see it out on a very heavy track at the Gold Coast when he was forced widest and gave the winner a huge head start. He was heavily backed LS before getting shuffled back and held up turning for home which was costly. He was the best of the closers and will appreciate getting back to Eagle Farm. He’ll need luck from the gate but is good enough.

(10) Termagant $4.20: she looks a great chance early in the day. It was a nice return over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast when she had to lump 62.5kgs before getting held up down the straight and only seeing clear air inside the final furlong when the bird had flown (felt the pinch late / CHAKRA BOY since won). She had a very quiet trial leading into her first up effort behind YELLOW BRICK that was good to the eye (looked like she had plenty in the locker). Getting out to 1200m second up is ideal, she plummets 5.5kgs at the weights, she has a terrific second up profile, she goes well at Eagle Farm, and she’ll be even better on dry ground. I think she maps to settle better than midfield from a good gate and will likely have a head start on JOHN RAMBO who draws wide. She ran second to FLAG HALL first up last prep but meets him 3.5kgs better today (ties in), and she was a tragedy beaten second up last time when she was poleaxed halfway down the straight before getting within 0.5L of the winner. Happy her way

(10) Termagant

$4.20 (2 Units)

Race 6: Tattersalls Gold Crown - 2100m – 2:47pm (AEST)

(1) Pulchritudinous $8.00: beat home ADIELLA two back before being solid in the market latest when she got shuffled back next to last and was no hope. Meets MARE OF MT BULLER worse at the weights after finishing behind her, but her best is good enough.

(3) Mare Of Mt Buller $3.00: one of the best bets of the day! This mare is absolutely flying this preparation and looks very well placed here. She was very good behind LITTLE BAIA four back over 1600m when she settled last from the widest gate before hooking widest to hit the line hard and get within 0.6L of the winner (fastest 6-400, 4-200m and L200m splits of the race / IT’S A KNOCKOUT and HASTY HONEY since won). She then went to 1900m and produced a peak performance to get the money. She settled worse than midfield off a fast tempo before weaving her way through nearer the inside to win running away from them (second fastest 4-200m and fastest L200m splits of the race / she went 9L above average overall). They dropped back to 1600m two back and she was snagged back to last from the widest gate before having to hook widest and storm home to get within 1.1L of KNOW THYSELF who led them up (clearly best of the closers / fastest 4-200m and L200m splits of the race / VIVY AIR, RAF ATTACK, and YOU WAHNG all since ran well). They stayed at 1600m LS and she was forced to race 3&4WNC the entirety from another wide gate, yet she kept kicking and finished within 2.3L of ADIELLA (clear forgive run / had the third fastest L200m split of the race / ties in with MISS JOLENE et al). I think getting out to 2100m on a dry track is a huge tick in her favour, JMac retains the ride, and she has a much better gate to hopefully settle midfield in transit. Looks very hard to beat

(8) Quietness $4.80: British import who was good first up over 1600m behind LOCH EAGLE. She’ll eat the extra trip and goes best on dry tracks. Draws well to settle closer in the run too. Danger.

(3) Mare Of Mt Buller

$3.00 (3 Units)

Race 8: Tattersalls Tiara GROUP 1 – 1400m - 3:58pm (AEST)

(5) Firestorm $4.40: promising 4YO mare who returned in solid style from a freshen up, hitting the line strongly to finish in the placings. That run suggested she's come back in great order, and she now steps out to the 1400m—a distance that should suit her perfectly. Proven on rain-affected going, the expected soft conditions are no issue. She strips fitter with that run under the belt, and with James McDonald sticking, there’s no doubt the stable means business. With even luck from the draw, she shapes as a leading contender and looks a top hope in this.

(8) Abounding $20.00/$4.604YO Mare who is a genuine type and looks primed for this fourth up run. She finally gets a handy draw which puts her right in this at big odds. Ran well in this race last year. Blow out hope.

(13) Tashi $7.50/$2.50: 5YO Mare who has been terrific in her last three runs finishing second on all occasions. She was enormous to the line in the Dane Ripper after having to do some work from the rear, so the rise in trip off that run looks ideal. Early market support has been promising and with her getting back on the rain effected track, she has to be considered. Value pick.

(13) Tashi E/W

$7.50/$2.50 (1U/2U)
