With State of Origin taking place on Wednesday, the start to NRL Round 13 will take place on Friday night with the Dragons vs Knights. It is also a reduced round of fixtures, so this game will take centre stage. It will take place at the traditional home of the Dragons in Kogarah, and with both teams outside the Top 8, they have everything to play for.

Dragons vs Knights Prediction & Tips: 2025 NRL Round 13
Rocks or Diamonds Dragons
They produced an upset in Round 11 against the Broncos before having the Bye last week. Prior to that, they had been mixed with their form. The spirit in that game to overcome a 12-4 HT deficit was impressive; so too was the 87% completion rate and averaging 8.9m per carry. If they can maintain a similar standard, they will be pushing for a spot in the Top 8. Consistency is the key for them.
Time for Consistency
The Knights couldn’t have been more impressive in their 25-6 win over the Panthers. While much was made about their opponents’ absences, they too had players missing. This was established on the back of ball control, with an 85% completion rate and an average of 10.2m per carry establishing a strong platform. This led to 9 line breaks; their attack was hot. The challenge is now maintaining this standard.
Stats that matter
The Dragons are superior in attack (22ppg vs 13ppg) but are worse defensively (23ppg vs 18ppg). Interestingly, the Knights have the greater disparity between the two areas. The Knights have just a 40% record at this ground (Dragons 58%), with the home side winning 3 of the past 5 matches between these two sides here. On top of that, the average total margin in the past 5 matches is 15.6 points.
The Dragons are favourites?
All Origin players are expected to back up from this contest. The home side are the preferred option with bookmakers, but it is somewhat puzzling to decipher. The Dragons, fresh off a Bye, have their most recent performance as a reference point. The Knights were good too last week and little changes for them to make them regress this week. Recent history suggests a blowout score is likely but the performances of each team so far this year suggests otherwise. With this in mind (and in a tricky contest), avoid investing on one team; rather, back this game to be a close contest and have a clearer picture after 80 minutes of what each team can offer.

Same Game Multi: Dragons vs Knights
Leg 1 = Under 45.5 points – looking at the total points scored this season, both teams have shown an ability to struggle in this area. The desperation of each should make the defensive efforts improved in this contest.
Leg 2 = Schiller to score – he has scored 5 tries in 10 matches this season and will again be a threat on the edge for the Knights. Best of all, he is only growing in confidence; the Dragons are also vulnerable on the edges.
Leg 3 = Tuipulotu to score – he returns this week from injury and has already scored 7 tries this season. Like Schiller, he is always a threat on the wing and will want a strong performance here in his return.
