Caulfield hosts Saturday Racing in the state of Victoria this weekend with the Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes headlining the day. Baraqiel returns and will be the likely favourite as James Cummings has a strong hand in the race with three runners.The track is predicted to be a Soft 5 or Soft 6 after 5mls of rain on Friday night, and race one will start us off at 12:10pm (AEST).

Race 3: VOBIS Gold Stayers - 1:20pm (AEST)
(2) Jimmy The Bear beat a few of these over 2000m last time and the extra distance should be fine. He was a little wide but came into the race strongly last start and got the better of Pounding in the end. Those two were the favourites in that race and that is the case again here. Jimmy loves Caulfield but is having his first try over the distance and you will have to take $1.65 t find out if he handles it. He is a winner though having won 12 from 39 starts and I still think he will have a couple of lengths on his main rivals.
(1) Pounding was strong to the line last start and will have to be again to knock off the fav. Having his first crack at the 2400m too and he does look ready. As we type the track is rated Soft though and he has only won once from 13 times on a Soft 5 or 6.
(6) Chihuly will likely be a couple of lengths behind the above and if there is too much pace in the race he could run over the top of them at odds. Shinn stays on and he has won on top before.

Race 8: The Big Screen Company Bletchingly Stakes Group 3 - 4:25pm (AEST)
(8) New York Lustre has won 5 from 9 starts and is versatile on all surfaces. The each-way odds appeals and the 1200m is his favourite. He was 2nd when resuming here on a Soft6 and we may get a Soft6 again. That runner-up effort was first up from a short spell and he didn’t trial before that run either so he should be fitter for this.
(1) Recommendation likes Caulfield and likes this distance so is probably over the odds at $8.00. Can go very quick though and may be a sitting duck with 100m to go.
(9) Bridal Waltz is 1 from 1 for Ben Melham and has Soft track form. Will sit up there from barrier 6 and the consistent filly is one of the fittest in this. Has won and Placed in a similar class before so isn’t out of her depth.

Race 9: Sportsbet More Places Handicap - 4:55pm (AEST)
(1) Rheinberg has his favourite distance again and he drops in class a little bit and gets a claim with Logan Bates getting the claim. All his form is on the Good and the Soft and if it does rain all day the possible Heavy track by the last race would be an unknown. Two starts back at this track he was good when 4th beaten just a half a length behind Yellow Sam and then didn’t get much luck when 9th here last start. Over the odds and a small bet.
(11) True To Form ran well for 2nd at this track a fortnight ago. This horse won’t want too much rain on the day though. Has placed twice from three starts over this distance.
(13) Pariah Pearl I tipped on here last week and she ran a good 4th when being held up at a crucial part of the race. Barrier 13 is a worry though but she should be out in clean air over the concluding stages.
