There’s another great day of racing ahead at Ascot this Saturday with nine races on the program. Race 1 is set to jump at 1:49pm AEST, and the rail is out 5m the entirety after being out 3m last week. Race 1
(5) RUSTY DREAMS – smart filly on the upward spiral who can win again. We were with her LS and she duly saluted over 1400m when she was forced to work early. Goes up 2kgs for having won that race but her rivals need to make up 2L to turn the tables. She’s third up today and looks like she wants the mile now. Draws the pole and there looks to be genuine speed outside her. I think Parnham can camp in behind them and be too good late. She has upside! Save on number 3 - HERE FOR CHEQUES - who is over the odds early markets ($8).

Race 4
(1) ANGELIC MISS - she’s one of the best bets of the day! Finally gets to 1400m fourth up off the back of a nice few runs this prep. She was a barnstorming winner first up when she came from last to pick them all up beating PHANTA and ACROMANTALA (since won) before going to the Cyril Flower where she was beaten 2L behind MY BELLA MAE (since went to Melb and was well backed) and SNIPAROOCHY (since SP’d $3.30 in the Pinjarra Classic). She beat home HOT ZED that day who since won said Pinjarra Classic and was beaten a length in last week’s QUOKKA. LS she ran third to GUNMETAL GREY (key rival here) who she gets a 1.5kg weight swing on. She maps to sit fifth in running (3 pairs back, 1 out) and she’ll take improvement from her LS run (GUNMETAL GREY has been up for a long time now). She’s the best horse in the race and she’s well weighted to win. Keen she can turn the tables.

(10) KINGS SICARIO - best bet of the day! 3YO gelding who gets in on the minimum after returning in great order for the Gangemi stable. He showed an electric TOF first up over 1200m coming from last to win by 1.5L before going to 1400m LS running third behind RUSTY DREAMS (ran earlier today) who looks smart in her own right (he was well backed that day $10>$6 ). He did his best work late! Draws a cracking gate for B. Parnham and looks like he wants the mile now. Looks progressive!
(10) KINGS SICARIO to Win

Race 9
(2) FEATHERWEIGHT - been crunched in early markets and I can see why. He profiles nicely first up and had a nice trial leading in. First up last prep he produced a beautiful finale to get past ABOVE THE PEG (also here) after getting that horse’s jockeys whip across his snout inside the last 100m. He gets in really well after the claim (I note C. Parnham who normally rides him is on the second fav?) and hopefully by this stage of the card there’s no disadvantage being able to run on as he’ll likely get back from the gate. Happy his way.
