Round 10 for the 2025 AFL Premiership season will get underway this Thursday night with an absolute blockbuster match between Gold Coast and Hawthorn at TIO Stadium. Gold Coast are coming into the match fresh off their best win of the season, getting over the line against the Western Bulldogs last week, while Hawthorn are riding a three-game winning streak against sub par opposition and are due for another serious test.

Where to Attack?
Surprisingly enough, Gold Coast have been giving up the highest amount of fantasy points to inside midfielders this season at just under 5 points per game above league average. We are far enough into the season to take these trends seriously and therefore should be looking at stacking up Hawks on the inside in this matchup.
The Suns have also been conceding above average points to defenders, while the Hawks have been one of the stingiest teams in the league, holding teams below average across every position bar ruck.

VALUE PLAYS
Ned Reeves ($9,750) comes in to replace Meek who’s being managed. Reeves is not the most reliable scoring source but when playing as the sole ruck he does have upside as shown with two scores topping 100 points in 2023, and from his four games in 2024 he did post a 77 point score. The most attractive thing about Reeves on this slate is his price point is low and he will not be splitting the duties like the Gold Coast duo who have brought the heralded Ned Moyle in to help lighten the load of Jarrod Witts.
MID PRICED PLAYS
Bailey Humphrey ($10,310) / Brandon Fiorini ($10,180)
Will Graham is out this week with injury and he’s fresh off a game where he attended 41% of the Suns centre bounces. That role will need to be assumed by others, with it likely increasing Bailey Humphrey’s time in the midfield. Humprhey has already been spending more time in the middle in recent weeks with back to back games of 47%+ centre bounce attendances and two scores of 89 and 103 from his last three games. He is certainly a safe bet on this slate.
Fiorini on the other hand, just returned to the side last week to play on the wing after one of the most dominant runs of VFL football we have ever seen from a midfielder. Anyone who has been playing fantasy in any format for any given period of time would know the scoring potential that Fiorini has if he’s given an inside midfielder role, and with Graham out he just might get some opportunity in this matchup. High upside but high risk as well.
Changkuoth Jiath ($10,750) has excelled in recent weeks across half back with back to back scores of 107 and 113. This shapes up to be a solid matchup for Hawks defenders as the Suns have been giving up above average points to designated kickers, general defenders and attacking half backs this season. Stacking up Hawks backs up in Darwin looks to be a solid strategy and with the form that Jiath has been in, I will start my stacks with him.
PREMIUM PLAYS
Jai Newcombe ($15,870) against the team that is giving up the most points in the league to inside midfelders… sign me up. They don’t come more inside than Jai and he has shown significant upside for daily fantasy tournaments when the matchup is right. He has posted four games above 103 from his last 7 matches, including two 118s and a 142.
