Where to Attack
Last season, North Melbourne conceded more disposals to their opposition than any other team in the league. They also leaked massive fantasy points to opposition forwards and midfielders. With Carlton starting big favourites in this match, they are the obvious avenue to exploit on this slate.

Value Plays
Luke Pedlar ($6,000) - We’ll go back to the well one more time on Luke Pedlar as Draftstars have given us a bargain-basement price. I rate Pedlar highly and although he was poor in his semi-tagging role on Tom Stewart last week, Pedlar has the talent to win his own ball and lay a few tackles that are gold for fantasy scoring. He averaged 58.2 across a full season of 21 games last season, so taht would be fine at this price. Doesn’t have to do much here on a slate that is tricky to find value, but just beware of the sub risk.
Mid-Priced Plays
Luke McDonald ($9,560) - We’re getting a good price on Luke McDonald who has had an interrupted pre-season for the Roos. McDonald is likely to be asked to play big in an under-sized backline, and with the likes of Sheezel, Fisher and McKercher the key distributors of the Sherrin, there won’t be a lot of cheap ball left for McDonald like previous years. However it’s easy to forget that he was a leading fantasy scorer in previous years, and is capable of getting on the end of some +3’s as well as a few cheeky kickouts. At under $10k, he’s definitely worth consideration.
Jaegar O’Meara ($10,240) - Started as the sub last week after coming back from injury, so we’re getting a good price for one of the Dockers key midfielders. With Nat Fyfe subbed out last week, there’s a chance that JOM gets an increased role this week and should hit value in the guts. Might be a nice point-of-difference play.
Tom Powell ($10,990) - Young gun Tom Powell has taken a little while to find his feet but might be ready to take the next step after an impressive start to the season with a score of 113 last week. He’s getting plenty of midfield minutes and looks primed to break out. The downside is that he has been the talk of the AFL Fantasy community this week, so he's likely to be well found.
Premium Plays
Harry McKay ($12,280) - The twin towers of Carlton will be popular plays in this slate against a weak North Melbourne backline. Harry McKay in particular has had a great start to the season with scores of 82 and 103. I like how McKay is pushing up the ground as a marking target but still getting back to hit the scoreboard. His mobility is key to picking up extra marks, kicks and fantasy points!
Harry Sheezel ($15,980) - The Sheez has had a remarkable start to his career and is now firmly a premium AFL fantasy player. With an average of 97.3 in his debut season, Sheezel has scored 121 and 120 in his opening matches. Sheezel is the Roos' key distributor but he runs and spreads well, and can win his own ball. Obviously there’s plenty of action down in the Roos defensive half which also means that Sheezel has plenty of opportunity to score well.
