NBL24 Round 17 Preview & Betting Tips
Adelaide 36ers vs Cairns Taipans

One of the form teams in the competition, the Adelaide 36ers will be keen to keep the ball rolling as they look to make an unlikely push for a Play-In spot. They enter Round 17 having won each of their last two and four of their past five games to breathe some life back into what was once looking like another wasted season.
Last time out the 36ers were able to upset the Hawks on the road by nine points, making it back-to-back wins on their travels. They’ll now return home in Round 17 where they’ve won two in a row and three of their past four games. This comes after finishing their three-game road trip, which is their longest such trip this campaign.
Elsewhere, the Cairns Taipans inconsistencies in NBL24 continued in Round 16 where they came away with one win and one loss. The Snakes are yet to string together more than two wins in a row all campaign, but also haven’t lost more than three on the spin. Regardless, they remain very much in the hunt for a Play-In spot.
The Taipans most recent defeat came at home against the Bullets by 18 points in a game where they never really threatened. Alarmingly, the Snakes have now given up 100+ points in three of their past four and eight of their past 11 games. This is a key statistic for the club, as all three games where they’ve limited their opponents to less than 100 points have resulted in wins.
Match prediction: These clubs played each other just a couple of weeks ago in Cairns and what a thrilling game it was. Despite trailing for most of the clash, the Taipans were able to force overtime and eventually come away 111-101 winners.
The Snakes are 2-0 against the 36ers in NBL24 but I fancy the 36ers to get some revenge on Saturday night. They’re in the best form they’ve been in all campaign and also have home court advantage on their side. This is another must-win game for them and I expect them to play with the necessary intensity to come away with a win.
