This might not have been the expected semi-final lineups for the 2020 League of Legends European Masters, but there are still some quality teams in contention. Let's take a look at the semi-finals with our preview and betting tips for matches on Saturday night/Sunday morning Australian time.
LOL European Masters Semi Finals Betting Tips
Ago Rogue v Team LDLC
Ago Rogue and LDLC meet again after coming through their respective quarter-finals largely unscathed. Both teams swept their opponents: Ago Rogue beat Mousesports, while LDLC defeated BT Excel 2-0. In terms of recent form, that should put them at par going into this semi-final.
Let’s take a look at the second influential factor: history. Both these teams were in the same group in the main event of the EU Masters. Both finished with a 4-2 group record. Against each other, they won one game apiece. Nothing separates them there either.
The personnel factor is where there might be a difference. Hades has been in simply stunning form right through this tournament. In fact, he has a quite unfathomable KDA of 29.33, having racked up 4.1 kills, 4.7 assists and just 0.3 deaths per game over 10 maps. Tynx has been slightly better than him, in terms of killing efficiency, with a kill rate of 4.2 per game. Vetheo has given both of them able support with a kill participation rate of close to 9. Ago Rogue might find it hard to stop this LDLC offensive trio. That and a bigger payout is why I’d back Team LDLC.
Movistar Riders v K1ck Neosurf
K1ck Neosurf have enjoyed a morale-boosting campaign to date. They came through the play-in of this tournament. Then, they won four of six games in the group stage and also upset Gamersorigin which we picked in our quarter-finals preview. All credit to them for a stellar tournament but that might be ending soon.
Movistar Riders have a lot more depth, skill and quality in their roster, which makes a massive difference in the pressure of a knockout game. Movistar Riders and K1ck Neosurf split their group-stage games but Movistar won the tiebreaker, which will hold them in good stead from a confidence standpoint. Also, their quarter-final win against the quality of Fnatic Rising will be a huge boost.
AD Carry Puki Style has been K1ck Neosurf’s most potent offensive weapon. Movistar Riders will need to find a way to stop him. From their own roster, they have their own ADC JaVaaa in sensational offensive rhythm: he averaged 5.36 and 4.91 assists during the group stage of this tournament. The kill participation rates of Rhuckz (11.37), Elyoya (10) and Xico (9.82) have helped JaVaaa immeasurably too.
