2018-19 EPL: Week 13 Preview & Betting Tips

November 21st 2018, 5:32pm, By: admin

After a week off for international break the 2018-19 EPL season resumes this weekend for what is the 13th week of action. Daylight savings means the games will be a bit later from now on, but that won’t stop us from riding some winners home this weekend. As usual, we provide previews and betting tips for the three best value games of the round. Good luck to all following!

EPL Week 13 Betting Tips

Everton vs Cardiff (Sunday 2am AEDT)

Everton come into this one on the back of some really good form in the Premier League. After a shaky start to their campaign, the Toffees have won four of their last six games, to go along with just one draw and one loss. Their hot form has moved them up to ninth position on the table and just one point out of the top six. Their most recent outing was away to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge where they secured an important point. Richarlison and Sigurdsson continue to lead the charge on offence, with Jordan Pickford remaining rock solid in defence.

As many predicted, Cardiff have found life in the premier league fairly difficult. They’ve won just two of their opening 12 games, although both wins have come in the last month against Fulham (4-2 at home) and Brighton and Hove (2-1 at home). They’ll need to improve their road form drastically to compete with the Toffees on Sunday morning, as they’ve managed just one point from five away fixtures thus far.

The way their respective form stacks up has this game going only one way and that is an Everton win. They’re by far the superior team of the two and have been able to find the back of the net regularly against weaker opposition of late. We expect Everton to win this by 2+ goals.

Watford vs Liverpool (Sunday 2am AEDT)

The Hornets come into this game against Liverpool in some shaky form, winning just two of their last eight Premier League fixtures. This comes after their remarkable start to the season where they won each of their first four games. Their recent slip ups have them sitting in seventh position with 20 points, which equals the point totals of both Bournemouth and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Liverpool come into this duel as one of three teams undefeated in the league after 12 games. Although they haven’t been scoring goals for fun like we saw last season, their defence has been rock solid, led by new recruits Virgil Van Dijk and Alisson. Liverpool’s away form also stacks up well coming into this road fixture, as they’ve claimed 14 points from a possible 18 away from Anfield.

Although Liverpool have great defensively this season, they have still let in a few goals on the road against quality teams, which is exactly what Watford are. We do expect Liverpool to win this one, but prefer the value in the Both Teams to Score Market.

Tottenham vs Chelsea (Sunday 4:30am AEDT)

Tottenham have overcome an indifferent start to their Premier League campaign to win six of their last seven matches and climb up to fourth position on the table with 27 points, which is just five behind league leaders, Manchester City. The Spurs have done reasonably well with their tough draw to start the season, where they have been required to play eight games on the road compared to just four at home.

Chelsea are the second of three teams to remain undefeated after 12 fixtures, joining Liverpool and Manchester City for that feat. The Blues have won eight and drawn four so far, but are faced with one of the toughest challenges in English football when they travel to Wembley to take on the Spurs.

There’s no doubting that Chelsea have been impressive in the league to date, but we feel that they’ll be the first of the three undefeated teams to lose that title. The Spurs are more than a handful on any given day and represent terrific value at home here.
