UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs Holland Betting Tips

April 9th 2021, 4:42pm, By: Ben Talintyre

UFC Fight Night Betting Tips

The weekly UFC Fight Night card once again comes out of the Apex Centre in Las Vegas, Nevada. For the second time in under a month Kevin Holland headlines a card as he steps in on short notice to fight the Italian phenom Marvin Vettori. There is plenty of lines that are enticing on this week’s card that haven’t quite made my best bets this week.

Daniel Rodriguez should be too much for Mike Perry and may even be able to stop Platinum. I am also very fond of debutant Aliaskhab Khizriev but due to my respect of Kyle Daukaus I don’t see it being a walkover for the undefeated Russian and there are safer bets at more value elsewhere. So let’s get into it.

UFC Fight Night Betting Tips

Marvin Vettori vs Kevin Holland

I was keener on Vettori’s chances against Till due to the Englishman struggling in the Octagon of late and he wouldn’t have held his usual strength advantage over the stronger Italian.  Vettori is a stout wrestler and Holland showed very little in the wrestling department in his last fight against Brunson. I believe Vettori works incredibly hard and should be a title challenger as he carries both power in his hands and some wrestling chops that makes him a threat to the top of the division.

Where I do have my reservations though is he does get ‘angry’ inside the Octagon and while some suggest the best Vettori is an angry Vettori, it can lead him to rushing his opponents, leaving himself exposed. That plays perfectly into Holland’s counter punching style and if the Italian doesn’t keep his head through the barrage of mouthiness Holland will throw his way he could see himself having his head taken off. I have to side with Vettori to win due to him just being the clearly better of the two but I do have grave concerns of his mentality during the fight. The $1.25 on offer is just way too big of a risk due to what I have said above and therefore I am staying away. But do tune in as this will be a fun watch.

Yorgan de Castro vs Jarjis Danho

Yorgan de Castro burst onto the UFC scene with a one-punch knockout of Justin Tafa in his Octagon debut. Since then though he has fallen to Greg Hardy and Carlos Felipe. I do not know what happened to de Castro in those fights as he barely threw a strike. In rounds 2 and 3 against Hardy he threw a combined 28 significant strikes.

His opponent Danho though is as easy of a match up as he will ever get in the UFC. It is his first fight in almost 5 years and before his layoff he was a below par Heavyweight that relied on his strength with little to no technique. De Castro throws nasty leg kicks and that will render Danho useless and a stagnant target. In the end de Castro will stop him probably in the opening 10 minutes.

Hunter Azure vs Jack Shore

Hunter Azure is a tough and talented fighter but Jack Shore is the future at Bantamweight. Shore is just 26 years old and is a perfect 13-0. The Welshman has finished 12 of his 13 fights, 8 by submission and 4 by knockout. A lot of people are seeing Azure to have a distinct wrestling advantage but for mine if anything Shore is the better of the two and he has a nasty submission game to go with it.He also should pick apart Azure on the feet in what will be a rough night for Azure. Shore gets the finish around the midway point of the fight.
