A truncated NRL Super Saturday kicks off in Campbelltown, as the Broncos head to the golden west to take on the Tigers. The Tigers have lost three straight, whilst the Broncos have been tremendous over the past fortnight. It’s going to be a tough ask for Benji and his men, even if the game is at home.

Wests Tigers vs Brisbane Broncos

Last Week
The Tigers considered themselves a little hard done by last week, as they went down 22-6 to the Panthers in Bathurst. The Tigers were right in the game deep into the second half, trailing just 10-6 with 17 minutes remaining. The Panthers managed two quick tries though to seal the win, in an otherwise spirited performance from the Tigers. Statistically, the big issue for the Tigers was the 15 errors, and the obvious lack of polish on their redzone attack. This needs to improve, however it might be a bit tough this week against one of the best goal-line defensive units in the NRL.
The Broncos obliterated the Raiders at home last week, and did so without their halfback and skipper Adam Reynolds, spanking the Raiders 34-10. The game was over inside half an hour, with the Broncos scoring five unanswered tries to lead 28-0. If the Broncos didn’t take their foot off the gas, who knows what the score would have ended. Reece Walsh was superb, running for 199 metres, whilst breaking the line three times and scoring twice.
Match Preview
The Broncos and Tigers met just once last year, in round 5 at Suncorp Stadium, and it was a bloodbath, with the Broncos running away 46-12 winners after closing 16.5-point favourites. The Broncos were never troubled, leading 28-0 after 35 minutes, and will be very confident heading into this clash with captain and halfback Adam Reynolds back into the team. The total closed 43.5, with the Broncos covering that number on their own.
As for this matchup, the Broncos opened 13.5-point favourites last week, with early money this week coming in on the Tigers, to where the Broncos now sit as 11.5-point favourites. With both Adam Reynolds and Payne Haas back, this number is crazy in my opinion. The Tigers tried their hearts out last week and are surely in for a down week this week. Whilst my numbers are pretty much spot on with the market, I can’t see any result in this matchup other than a Broncos win by margin. They have looked terrific the past two weeks, and with Haas back in the middle, Reynolds back to steer the team around, and Reece Walsh going from strength to strength, expect a big win here for the Broncos.
As for the total, it opened 46.5, dropping slightly to 45.5 throughout the week. I agree with the move and would still consider betting the under here. I make a fair total 42.5 and will more than likely have a bet on the under, and Tigers team total under (16.5) before kick-off. The Tigers are 6-0 to the under this season, and the only reason I can’t suggest the under here, is the fact the Broncos could rack up 40+ by themselves.
