Sandown Racecourse (historically known as Ladbrokes Park) is in Springvale, Melbourne, located approximately 30 minutes to the South-East of Melbourne's CBD. Sandown is a premier metropolitan racetrack opened in 1965 and operated by the Melbourne Racing Club. It features two distinct, anti-clockwise turf circuits - Hillside and Lakeside - and is widely regarded as a fair, free-flowing track suited to genuine stayers and wide runners.
