The Super Rugby regular season concludes this weekend and the Round 10 action starts on Friday night with the Melbourne Rebels looking to reach the finals with a 4+ point victory over the Force. On Saturday night, the Reds and Brumbies battle in the top of the table clash and this could be a possible Grand Final preview in a few weeks time.

The finals equation for the Melbourne Rebels on Friday night is as simple as beating the winless Force by a try and they secure the #3 seed. Otherwise, the Waratahs will take their position in the finals. Speaking of the ‘Tahs, the Force battled hard against them last week in the 38-32 defeat which has them in this position of having to win or go home.
Meanwhile, the Force have endured a tough end to the season after a winless campaign. But they get one more opportunity to produce a massive upset and ultimately, knock the Rebels out of the finals. Which would be the ultimate revenge after the Force were dumped from Super Rugby a few years ago while the Rebels stayed. The Force started well against the Brumbies last week by scoring the first try but their defence couldn’t stop the top of the table ACT throughout the contest. So they’ll need to find a defensive gameplan to beat the Rebels here.
This will be the second meeting of the season between the sides after the Rebels survived a Round 5 extra-time victory, 25-20. However, since that result, the Force have lost their last 3 games by 13+. Considering the Rebels must win this game to make the finals, we can’t see how they miss out on that opportunity. So we’ll be backing the Force to win and win well.
Queensland Reds vs ACT Brumbies

The two top sides in Super Rugby AU meet on Saturday night in what could be a Grand Final preview. For the Brumbies, they’ve already secured top spot on the table so there’s not much to play for in terms of ladder positioning. So they could use this game to rest up any of their starters that could be carrying a few niggles. The Brumbies also get a bye after this game before meeting the winner of the Qualifying Final on September 19.
The QLD Reds are coming off the bye last week and were impressive in their last outing. Against the winless Force, the Reds played impressive attacking Rugby as they piled on 57 points and a total of 8 tries. So they should be hitting the finals with a lot of confidence and they’d love to get one over the Brumbies before the finals as well.
It’s hard to see the Brumbies taking this game too seriously as they’ve already locked up top position and a week off before the Grand Final. So we’re keen on the underdog Reds on their home turf. They’ll be looking to avenge the heartbreaking 22-20 loss against the Brumbies in Canberra in Round 5 as well.
