Sandown & Warwick Farm Racing Tips: Wednesday, March 27th

March 27th 2019, 7:56am, By: tim_tips

Welcome to our preview and horse racing betting tips for racing at Sandown Lakeside and Warwick Farm on Wednesday, March 27th.

Sandown is currently a Good 4, while the wet weather in Sydney has made Warwick Farm a Heavy 8.

We've picked out our best three bets for each track below!

SANDOWN LAKESIDE BEST BETS

RACE 3

Woman made her stable debut for the Lindsay Park team at Pakenham first up, which was her first run after 78 weeks off the track. previously with Gai Waterhouse, she raced once in Sydney for a dominant win on debut at Canterbury. She didn't get any luck at Pakenham from the inside gate, stepping slow and only finding clear air in the closing stages of the race. While Pakenham form is typically form I choose to avoid for city meetings, she looks capable of winning this and measuring up in better races. Mark Zahra goes aboard today and from barrier 4 she should get a good run.

RACE 7

Venezuela looks an interesting runner here. He comes into this first up from 96 weeks off the track and makes his Australian debut for Team Williams. He had three starts in Ireland, running 2nd on debut and breaking through for a maiden win over the mile last time we saw him. His only failure came on a very heavy track so it will pay to forgive him for that. He looks open to much more improvement than the large majority of this field and his trial at Cranbourne was very encoiraging. He returns today as a gelding and I think he'll be competitive first up at 1500m, despite having so long off the track. Eighteen Carrot at $8.50 looks value in the race. He won first up over 1300m on the Hillside course but was luckless last start, caught three-wide the trip. He'll go back from barrier 10 but if you forgive him for his last run, he looks like he can be very competitive.

Value: Eighteen Carrot $8.50

Venezuela

$5.50

RACE 8

I tipped Silent Roar first up and she ran terrific despite having zero luck. She was caught three-wide without cover on the speed and was still only beaten less than a length. Even though this looks a fairly competitive race on paper, I have to follow my money on her and go again. She's drawn the inside barrier today so should either kick through to lead or at worst box seat. She's two from three at the distance and is undefeated second up from a spell. She looks very hard to beat today.

Silent Roar

$2.30

WARWICK FARM BEST BETS

RACE 6

Fasika was very, very impressive on debut over this track and distance two weeks ago. She came from back in the field and ran down Got Your Six, who I thought was a complete moral in the race. And she did it easily, the race was over in a matter of strides. It was an eye-catching performance and on the back of that, I think she'll handle the step up to BM70 company with no problems today. She's yet to see a Heavy track but she's bred by So You Think, so she should be able to handle wet ground. If she can run as well as she did on debut, I think she'll win this.

Fasika

$3.10

RACE 7

I think Silent Explorer is an each way moral here. I'll be having a really good crack at the $2.10 on offer for him to place, with something small on the $6.00 available for him to win. He loves this track and distance and he loves wet ground. He's had three runs here at the mile and has placed in all three, and he's had nine starts on wet ground for two wins and five placings. He's placed in all three starts on Heavy tracks. He was beaten a nose over track and distance on a Soft 7 two weeks ago and from barrier 4 he should get absolutely every chance again today. There's a few other chances in the race but I'd be surprised if he couldn't run a place here.

Silent Explorer E/W

$6.00

RACE 8

The money has well and truly come for Roosevelt here and I'm jumping on the train to back him. He's shown very little in his first two runs back from a spell this time in but they've both been strong races and more importantly, the last time he saw a Heavy track, he waltzed in by 5.3L. He's undefeated at this track and distance and that win on the Heavy ground was one of them. Third up today so should have the race fitness to win and he won't be bumping into the likes of Baller, Prophet's Thumb or Trope here.

Roosevelt

$3.40
