Sandown Racing Tips

Sandown Hillside will host nine races on the midweek time slot this week and the track will likely be rated Good which is rare for a June meeting in Victoria.

Race one starts at 11:50am (AEST) and the distance race over 2400m starts us off with Shane Jackson’s Champagne Jenni the favourite.

Brendan Bunworth is back with his best bets for Sandown this Wednesday, and for more previews of today's racing, make sure you check out our Racing Tips page. If you're looking for a new sportsbook for the meeting then why not try RealBookie - an exciting new sportsbook that some great racing promotions and competitive odds for all race meetings!

Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday, June 18th 2025

Race 3: Sportsbet Green Tick Handicap – 1:00pm (AEST)

(4) Stokke has drawn well here in 2 and the Dry track is key here. He didn’t really run out a strong 1000m last start at Lakeside when 3rd but with this race being his 4th run in this prep (2 months) he should be ready to fire. He will settle on pace again and I reckon he can turn the tables on Trembles who was too good for him last start.

(7) Trembles has been racing well over the 100m and was a 4L winner at Mornington two starts back and then won again at Lakeside after leading throughout. Gets barrier 11 though but the stable has put Williams on to negate that.

(5) Impish Lady went forward and won well at Cranbourne last start but this is harder. I expect all three fillies/mares to settle in the first four and I think they will fight it out.

(4) Stokke

$3.70 (1 unit)

Race 7: Sportsbet Same Race Multi Handicap - 3:20pm (AEST)

(9) The Shaper has drawn wide in 10 but Williams will take him back anyway. His Good track form is solid and he did run a good 3rd at Flemington two starts back. He is a Hillside winner previously and he has been runner up twice before over this distance. With a senior jockey back on I think he might smoke the pipe and wind up over the final 200m.

(4) Beour Bay will likely race forward again like he did at Lakeside last start when 4th but beaten less than a length. Likes the 1300m and has never been out of a top 3 finish when racing over it. Form is better on wet tracks but he does get a 3kg claim here.

(14) Ten Deep has drawn wide in 16 and goes better on Soft tracks. Is one of the best horses in the field though and he has to be included.

(9) The Shaper E/W

$6.50/$2.20 (1u e/w)

Race 8: Ive Handicap - 3:55pm (AEST)

(1) Wallenda is a very fit gelding who probably has to show something now. He won at Kensington on March 13 but since racing in Victoria he hasn’t finished in the top 3 in his last four starts. His run at Lakeside was very good though when he ran on well over the concluding stages (5th) and the extra 100m here looks ideal.  Kennedy gets the 2kg claim so he will be carrying 60kg.

(5) Haraldus has won 3 from 6 starts on Good tracks but barrier 15 is a worry. Last start in a harder race at Caulfield he battled on well for 10th but only beaten 3.5L and I think he is over the odds here.

(2) He’ll Rip won by a neck at Lakeside last start and he has ran a 2nd at Hillside previously. He has drawn well in 2 and his second up form is very good. Drawn 14 for Willow.

(1) Wallenda E/W

$7.50/$2.60 (1u e/w)
