Royal Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, April 25th 2026
Race 5: Gallipoli BM78 1000m - 3:05pm (AEST)
(2) Lulumon: 5YO Mare who has been sound enough in defeat in tougher company. Gets back in grade now and rates well. Will be hard fit now fourth up and is placed 3 times from her 3 fourth up runs. Her record over this trip is very good and id be surprised if she wasn’t in the finish here. At the odds I am happy to have a play.
(9) Casserousse: 3YO Filly who looks to be a talented type and will only improve as she goes along. First up run was encouraging and then came out and trialled the house down. Draws a sticky gate for the 1000m dash, so happy to let her go round this time. Chance.
(12) Compensation: 3YO Gelding who was terrific at the trials and then came out as a $1.75 favourite and finished 3rd at Wawrick Farm. Second up run she was very good winning at Rosehill. Looks promising. Genuine hope.
(2) Lulumon E/W
$11/$3.20 (1U/2U)
Race 6: Anzac Day Cup BM94 1800m - 3:40pm (AEST)
(2) Zahpod: 5YO Gelding who is an honest type and generally runs a good race. He has been good this campaign with the two wins already to his name and his is now primed for his fifth run back, draws well and has a good record at this trip. Jason Collett steers again boosting confidence. Chance.
(7) Polymnia: 4YO mare who comes into this in terrific form, having produced two strong performances at Group 3 level over the mile and most recently, 1900m. She now drops slightly in trip but, more importantly, comes back in grade to BM94 company while carrying the same weight — a key factor that makes her look very well placed here. She is likely settling closer in the run than she has in recent starts, so If she gets the right run and is produced at the right time, her finishing burst should prove too strong for this field. Major player.
(11) Thrice: 4YO who has come across from the UK and has trialled pretty well, but other than that there isn’t much too go off expect for the fact that he has been plunged from $6.50 into $4.00 already in the early market suggesting the stable are quietly confident of a bold run here. Interesting one to watch.
(7) Polymnia WIN
$4.20 (2 Units)
Race 3: The Third Australian General Hospital BM78 1200m - 1:55pm (AEST)
(1) Surfin’ Bird: 4YO Mare who is out of The Autumn Sun and has a pretty handy CV with the 4 wins from 6 starts. Comes into this off a long break but has had the two trials and is proven first up. Looks to be a talented type going forward.
(2) Jellicious: 4YO Mare who has shown ability throughout her early career and id be expecting her to be only further improving now. Returning run was good finishing second over 1100m. She led throughout and probably lacked a tad of fitness there to hold them off but still finished nearly a length in front of third there. Fitter now and gets out to 1200m where she is 2:1-1. Drawn well and looks a fantastic value play.
(6) Cantiamo: Dominant first up winner over 1000m in a BM68 when starting $1.45. Jumped straight into a Group 3 and was far from disgraced finishing 6th only 2L off the winner in Plaintiff. Fitter again now but looks as though she may prefer some give in the track as she is unplaced on the dry from 3 cracks. Chance.
(2) Jellicious E/W
$10/$2.80 (1U/2U)
