The 2016 Brownlow Medal is almost here and that means CrownBet is back with their popular 'Crownlow' competition!
The Crownlow is a fun Brownlow Medal tipping competition that sees participants with a chance to share in $100,000 in cold hard cash!
The concept is simple - participants must pick nine players (in positions such as midfield, foward etc) based on who they think will score the most Brownlow votes.
Each position has a choice of three players and your goal is to pick the player you think will outscore the other two choices. If you get all nine positions correct you will score a share of $100,000, while there are CrownBet Rewards points awarded to varying degrees depending how many positions you get correct.
As an example of how the Brownlow tipping competition works , we will take a look at perhaps the easiest position to pick in the Crownlow, the centre line.
As you can see above, the choices in the centre line are for Dustin Martin, Dan Hannebery or Patrick Dangerfield. While Martin and Hannebery have had quality years, our 2016 Brownlow vote predictions have Dangerfield finishing on 32 votes which is nine more than Hannebery and 10 more than Martin.
There is no doubt a huge majority of those who play the Crownlow will be taking Dangerfield in the centre, so lets take a look at a tougher position - the half forward line.
Unlike the centre line, at first glance it's hard to know who to pick between Luke Dahlhaus, Steele Sidebottom and Toby Greene on the half forward line.
Because Dahlhaus has been in form during the 2016 AFL Finals it might be a bit of a trap to pick him. Steele Sidebottom has had a solid year, starring in multiple games where he kicked a couple of goals. But in terms of raw consistency and despite heavy competition at GWS, All Australian Toby Greene might be the way to go here. Our Brownlow specialist @AFLBYB has Greene finishing on a couple more votes than Sidebottom.
The amount of cash you will share in if you get all nine positions correct will depend how many other Crownlow entrants also get nine right! Although unlikely, if you score that sneaky correct pick that no-one else gets right, you could be in with a chance to take the entire $100K!
Even if you think it will be too hard to get every position correct, CrownBet will still be handing out Rewards Points which can be swapped for free bets! You can check out the prizes below!
