Welcome to our preview and tips for greyhound racing at Northam on Monday, April 29th.
We've got four selections from the meeting below!
Northam Greyhound Tips
Race 2 – 3:47pm AEST
I’m Excitable is one of the better beginners in the race and she will have to overcome box five today. She has been consistent with a win and five placings from her last six starts over the 405m at Mandurah. She drops back to the 297m at Northam and her early speed will be crucial to trying to find the lead and hold them off. She isn’t a lock to cross at the start but should begin well, along with Crocodile Flow. Winlock Sal also has strong claims in the race.
Race 5 – 4:42pm AEST
There looks to be plenty of early box speed in this event which makes it competitive. Aliante, Shinboner Spirit and Emma Lakers appear to be the better beginners on a consistent basis, and I like the price about Emma Lakers from box six. She has placed in two of three when wearing the green rug and her early speed should see her close to the speed. She is a last-start Mandurah 302m winner in 17.18, when defeating Ninja Mittens by 3.5L. Ezy Dollars has the inside box and will be right in the mix also.
Race 8 – 5:41pm AEST
Black Goshawk looks ready to win after four consecutive second-placings. She has been a bridesmaid in her career with eight wins and 20 seconds from 53 starts. She has dealt with boxes eight (twice) and five recently and a return to one will hopefully see her go one better. She was runner up from this box behind Willie Gundi four starts ago. Whatever happens, Black Goshawk should be there at the business end of proceedings as she looks to shake the bridesmaid tag today.
Race 12 – 7:08pm AEST
At first look, I was looking at Aspire Higher and Ninja Mittens. Then I delved a bit deeper into the form and I am happy to be with Bella Bomb at the price. A veteran bitch that has had 130 starts for 14 wins and 29 minor placings, Bella Bomb hasn’t been too bad in recent efforts. She is probably a couple of lengths behind the pair that I mentioned, but box one brings her into the race. She should settle in the first two or three and it wouldn’t shock to see her win. Five of her career wins have come at the track which also helps her cause.
