Welcome to our harness racing preview and betting tips for Gloucester Park on Tuesday, August 20th.
Trent Orwin has three selections to back throughout the night. Check them out below!
A suitable race for (10) Kennys Revenge who is trained and driven by Kyle Harper. He was second as favourite last start when driven cold and making a run late to run home behind No More Change. The field of 10 over the 1730m should suit and he meets inferior opposition compared to his last four starts. The field looks similar to when he won five starts ago over course and distance. He led on that occasion but won’t be able to do that here. (1) El Sunami and (3) Swingin Elsu could contest the early lead with the latter having the best gate speed. (2) Firebrace and (5) Glens Of Tekoa have each-way claims.
Early speed battle between (1) Kohli and (2) Im Batman could shape this race. Whichever horse can lead will take some catching in front. Kohli ran third last start after kicking away too early and being run down by R J Bopper and Pierre Whitby. Two starts ago, Im Batman led and was run down at Pinjarra. His last win came over Lightning Jolt and Convert Denario which is excellent form. Both horses already mentioned have strong claims, as does the Debra Lewis-trained pair of (8) Pierre Whitby and (10) Sea Me Smile. The class horse is (12) Neighlor and he can be dangerous late.
Value: (2) Im Batman $14
A race over the 1730m that sees (5) Sangue Reale take on (9) Hit It Rich. Barrier draw advantage lies with Sangue Reale who should prove very hard to beat. (1) Machrie loves the pegs and I like him on an each-way basis; more so for the place. He hasn’t won in almost two years but was placed five starts ago from barrier three. He follows speed and if he can settle leader’s back, he is going to be a chance of hanging on for second or third. (4) Jilliby Navajo and (8) Im Beta Than Gouda are other key place chances in the race.

Sunday evening at CommBank Stadium gives us a genuine 1v2 clash, and it is a shame it lands straight after Origin. In a clean week, Panthers vs Warriors would be one of the best measuring stick games of the season.
