Cleveland Cavaliers vs Golden State Warriors (Saturday 11am AEST) After being blown out in the opening two games of the series, the Cavaliers have returned serve by winning on their home court by 30-points. The home side exploded out of the blocks with Kyrie Irving scoring 16 first quarter points whilst his teammates were also dropping shots. Throughout the match Lebron James was back to his dominant self whilst J.R smith found his shot and Tristan Thompson was dominant on the glass grabbing 13 rebounds including seven on the offensive glass. This all happened with Kevin Love on the sidelines due to the concussion he suffered in game 2 and he should return for this match. If he is able to slot back in nicely to the line up and the Cavaliers are able to bring the same intensity they could easily level the series.
The two-time MVP Stephen Curry’s struggles continued whilst Klay Thompson wasn’t able to get going either. They were a combined 4-16 from downtown and Curry had six turnovers and found himself in early foul trouble. The role players were doing their best to keep the match close and every time the side would bring the match back to within 10-points the Cavaliers would go on another run and it would be back out to 20. It is unlikely for the splash brothers to continue to play so poorly as it is the third straight match neither player has managed to reach the 20-point mark when both players averaged over 20 during the regular and post season.
The Cavaliers are undefeated on their home court this season with a record of 8-0. We are predicting the side to come out again with another explosive start and be able to hold onto their lead despite the Warriors keeping the match a lot more competitive this time around. Love will bring added firepower for the team and stretch the floor but he will need to be a lot tougher on the defensive end otherwise he will find himself benched as the Cavs were great in defence in game 3 not allowing any easy shots for the Warriors.
TIP: Cavaliers 1-5 @ $4.75 with Sportsbet and/or Cavs straight out to win - $1.78 at Sportsbet (Added Friday, June 10)
