The Sydney Kings return to Afterpay Arena after making an absolute mockery of the Cairns Taipans in Round 1. Sitting at 1-0 and getting to prepare specifically for this New South Wales derby, the Kings hold a massive physical advantage. With an offence that is already clicking into top gear, Sydney will be looking to push the pace in transition right from the opening tip to test the heavy legs of their opponents.
Illawarra's Defensive Nightmare
Illawarra's start to NBL27 has been disastrous, dropping to 0-2 after a grinding 103-95 defeat to the Brisbane Bullets on Friday night. Tyler Harvey did everything he could to keep them afloat with 20 points, six rebounds, and four triples, while Sam Froling battled hard in the paint for a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double. However, conceding 103 points highlighted massive cracks in their defensive rotations. Having to fly back from Queensland and back up less than 48 hours later against the title favourites is a brutal assignment for a squad currently leaking points from everywhere.
