Rosehill Gardens hosts a 10 Race card with the Group 1 Golden Rose as the standout feature race of the card, accompanied by the Group 3 Heritage Stakes, Group 2 Golden Pendant and Group 2 Shannon Stakes. The rail is in its true position after being out 5m last time. Selections are for a GOOD/SOFT track with fine weather predicted – watch and monitor if possible. The first race kicks off at 11.55am AEST and the last concludes at 5:25pm AEST.

Race 4 – Toyota Forklifts - 1900m – BM88 (1:40pm AEST)
(3) Starzintheireyes – 5YO Gelding who resumed over the mile and settled rearward before being peeled to the widest and ran on nicely to only miss by 0.2L behind The Mona Lisa who had a much softer run. The way he hit the line was very encouraging and with the extra 300m added to the trip here he looks every chance of going one better. Draws well and J-Mac sticks. The one they will have to beat and deserves to be favourite.
(6) Pinhole – 5YO Gelding who appears to be well over the odds here. He has been racing honestly of late and last start over the mile he was rearward and tucked in, so didn’t have the option to peel out wide and track Starzintheireyes, so instead took rails run and absolutely flew up the fence which was the inferior going and motored home to finish 3rd. Boasted the fast last 600m of the race too. The rise to 1900m should suit and with the way he hit the line and only narrowly finishing behind the favourite in this race, the market differential is probably enough for me to have an each way play on this fella.
(9) Mukhtalif – 5YO Gelding who we were with last start and he was good in defeat running second behind a smart one. Third up now, so likely to further improve and will be thereabouts. J-Mac jumps off.

Race 7 – Racingandsports.com.au Golden Pendant – 1400m – GROUP 2 (3:25pm AEST)
(1) Lazzura – 5YO mare who we were with first-up when she resumed over 1200m in the Group 2 Sheraco and was sound in defeat, finishing third and hitting the line strongly while closing the gap on the first two. She should strip fitter second-up and the rise to 1400m looks like the right play second up. Her second-up record is good and she loves this track, never missing the placings from all runs here. J-Mac remains in the saddle and from the handy draw she looks set to get a lovely run in transit. Fitter, up to her preferred distance and well suited by the map. Looks every chance again here. Happy to stick
(4) Gangsta Granny – 5YO Mare who was rather disappointing first up when backed to run well. Went and trialled after that and then ran a good race last fortnight in the Group 2 Sheraco. May have her mojo back now and will only be further improving third up. Loves this track and and wouldn’t dismiss.
(6) Surfin’ Bird – 5YO Mare who continues to show upside and boasts a tidy record with the 5 wins from 9 starts. Return run here and is always good fresh. Trialled nicely and will be thereabouts. Watch the market.

Race 8 – Yulong Golden Rose – 1400m – GROUP 1 (4:05pm AEST)
(1) Guest House – 3YO Colt who was dominant when returning last start and broke the track record. He is a very talented type and deserves to be starting favourite off that return run. Data suggests he will go very closehere, but the untested 1400m is the only query. Goes well.
(5) St Gotthard – 3YO Colt who has plenty of upside and was good last start when resuming at Group 2 level. He was strong through to the line and didn’t miss by far behind Warwoven. Off the back of that effort the extra 200m here looks ideal. J-Mac retains the ride and if he can find a handy spot throughout the early stages, he has to be a top hope. Goes well.
(11) Plagiarism – 3YO Gelding who looks to be the roughie of the race. He gets the perfect set up similar to what he had two starts ago when he dictated over 1300m and couldn’t be caught. Maps to lead from the draw and if he gets a few cheap sectionals he will take catching. Blow out hope.
