Liverpool vs Fulham

Fulham will be looking to steady the ship after a dreadful season, when they travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool. The Reds finally got on the winners list after two draws to start the season, beating Ipswich Town 2-0 last weekend. Fulham have had a dreadful start to their campaign, with three straight losses against Palace, Sunderland and Chelsea.

Liverpool has certainly had the better of this matchup, holding a 10-4-2 in their last sixteen Premier League fixtures against Fulham. Chelsea vs Hull

Who would have thought Chelsea versus Hull would be a battle of third versus fourth? Both teams have got off to excellent starts to their seasons, and will be looking to continue their strong form. Hull have been the surprise packet to start the season, with two wins and a draw to start their return to the top flight, with games against Man United and Aston Villa in that start. Chelsea suffered their first blemish of the season, falling 2-1 against Arsenal despite scoring in the second minute of the game.
Hull have been a strong defensive side through the beginning of the season, but they have shown plenty of threat on the counter and will look to expose a Chelsea defence that has been vulnerable this season. Chelsea have played a high paced game under Xabi Alonso, so it will provide opportunities for Hull to get behind the home side if they are good enough.
There have been goals aplenty in Chelsea games this season, with scorelines of 3-2, 43 and 2-1 to start this season. Xabi Alonso’s side has scored an equal league high 8 goals through the opening three weeks of the season, and they will fancy being able to continue their attacking form against Hull. To go with their attacking form, Chelsea have conceded 7 goals which is the equal second most in the league - all signs point towards a high scoring affair at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United vs Manchester City

Manchester City come into the Manchester Derby in red hot form, with three consecutive wins seeing them on the top of the table after three weeks. Manchester United have a 1-1-1 record after throwing away three points against Everton last week, conceding in the 96th minute in a 2-2 draw. The Red Devils have continued their trend of underwhelming starts to the season, which they need to turn around if they are a chance to compete for the title.
Manchester City have had a great start to life under Enzo Maresca, scoring 7 goals (2nd most in the league) and conceding only two goals (equal 3rd fewest). They have been outstanding at controlling games, recording a league best average of 72% possession through their opening three games. If they get dominance in midfield and control the tempo of the game, it’s so hard to see Manchester United finding a way to produce enough high quality opportunities on goal.
As expected, Manchester City have certainly had the better of this rivalry, with a 6-1-3 record across the last ten Manchester Derbies. Manchester United’s defence has struggled to start this season, conceding 2 goals in each of their three games to sit as the 16th ranked defence. It’s a bad sign coming up against a Manchester City side that has the league’s most dominant striker in Erling Haaland, who is coming off a brace in his last game. City will roll on and continue their excellent start to the season.
