NRLW Round 11 Preview & Betting Tips
Sydney Roosters vs Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
Allianz Stadium – Thursday 10th September – 7:45pm (EST)
The Roosters delivered as promised with a commanding 50-6 victory over the Cowboys. Powerful in the first half, the game was all but over as they lead 38-0 at HT and showed no signs of slowing down. They dominated possession (60%), had a superior completion rate (71%), made 10.2m per carry, and had 18 line breaks. Their defence was also strong, missing just 11 tackles to keep their undefeated streak alive. The Bulldogs were comprehensively defeated 50-22 by the Knights on the road, unable to keep pace with their fancied opponents. With 42% possession, they completed at just 72%, and made just 952m. Their defence was poor, missing 42 tackles and conceded 13 line breaks. As a snapshot, it accurately sums up their season.
The Roosters have resisted the temptation to rest players ahead of the Finals, solidifying their standing as overwhelming favourites. Considering they will have a week off next week, that decision makes sense. On the other side, in charge of his last game for the club, coach Wiliame has made further changes to his team. This game is a matter of ‘how much’ the Roosters win by. Usually, the recommendation would be to stay away from large lines in this competition. Considering the Bulldogs have the 3rd worst attack and 2nd worst defence in the competition, the Roosters should have the perfect preparation and keep their undefeated streak alive.
Wests Tigers vs Canberra Raiders
Leichhardt Oval – Friday 11th September – 5:40pm (EST)
The Tigers crashed back to reality last week with a 58-0 defeat by the Titans at home. It was a disappointing performance with the Finals on the horizon but only have themselves to blame for their poor execution. With just 41% possession, they completed at only 51% and only made 873 PCM’s. This lead to just 1 line break; defensively, they missed37 tackles and conceded 10 line breaks. The Raiders were upset 17-16 at home by the Eels in a surprising result. Outplayed, they always trailed their opponents, as the game was decided by a field goal at the end. Despite having 56% possession and completing at 76%, the Raiders were off their best. Even with 8.7m per carry and 639 PCM’s, they could only manage 3 tries and must change ahead of their push towards the Finals.
Neither team has had the perfect preparation ahead of this contest. A few welcome changes for the Tigers strengthens their team for this game but a lot more will need to improve in their defence structure to see them produce a positive performance. The Raiders are again without their co-captain Taufa; the influence she has on this team means that her omission will be missed. There is a slight lean towards the Raiders in this game, but the Tigers can quickly bounce back to form. Considering neither team has a strong record of blowout victories (Tigers 11.3 points vs Raiders 5 points), the smart option is to take either team to win this match by less than 10 points in a strong indication of what is to come in the Finals.

Parramatta Eels vs North Queensland Cowboys
CommBank Stadium – Saturday 12th September – 12pm (EST)
The Eels caused a 17-16 road upset over the Raiders in dramatic fashion. In a spirited performance which replicates a few other performances from 2026, the Eels prevailed with a dramatic last second field goal. This outcome was impressive considering their trailed their opponents in every major area, including making 464 PCM’s and 8.2m per carry. The Cowboys were given a lesson in rugby league on the weekend by the Roosters, defeated 50-6 at home. Comprehensively outplayed, they could do little to match their opponents. They made just 689 total metres and had 1 line break, while missing 43 tackles and conceding 18 line breaks. They were well off the pace in this game.
With nothing to play for in this game other than pride, it will be interesting to see how each squad approaches this match. There is no doubt that the Eels are an improved side; the resilience they have demonstrated in recent weeks. The performance of the Cowboys against the Roosters leaves plenty of concerning questions. On the road, it may also mean that they have ‘switched off’ for the year. With momentum on the side of the Eels, they are the preferred selection. Perhaps the draining performance last week may increase their fatigue levels but that should be overcome with the confidence they gain from such a performance. With an Eels average win margin this season of 13 points, and the Cowboys having an averaging losing margin of 30 points, the home side should be able to pull away comfortably from their opponents by the end of this match.
Cronulla Sharks vs St George-Illawarra Dragons
Allianz Stadium – Saturday 12th September – 5:10pm (EST)
The Sharks captured their second win of the season with a spirited 40-32 road victory over the Warriors. Coming from behind, the Sharks attack sparked into action and looked as good as it has all season. Despite having just 46% possession, they completed at 80%, made 9.4m per carry, and had 8 line breaks. It was a great display from a team that had previously looked poor. The Dragons were spirited in their 24-16 home loss to the Broncos. Expected to struggle, they took their chances in the match but couldn’t build enough pressure to overturn the result. For a team that is building towards next season, they will take confidence from making more metres and missing fewer tackles. They will need a spark to ignite their attack in the future though, as they had just 2 line breaks over 70 minutes.
This is an ugly game to breakdown and part way with your money in. Neither team is playing for anything other than pride and to avoid the wooden spoon. Perhaps, the later brings out desperation in the teams which has been desired all season. To cloud your judgement further, both teams carrying positive momentum into this game. While the Dragons were defeated last week, they were competitive against a superior opponent; a similar performance would likely lead to a victory here. They are still listed as outsiders for this match; the Sharks are also winless at home this season. Too close to call and a game you should avoid, the option below is based more on the fact that this game, featuring two similar teams, should go down to the wire.
Brisbane Broncos vs New Zealand Warriors
Totally Workwear Stadium – Sunday 13th September – 12pm (EST)
The Warriors suffered a 40-32 home loss to the Sharks in a poor display which is arguably their worst this season. It was a major dent to their Finals hopes also, as they conceded 7 tries and missed 29 tackles. To make matters worse, this loss occurred with a greater share of possession (54%) and a superior completion rate (86%). They were unable to capitalise on their 8.7m per carry and 418 PCM’s either. The Broncos did enough to defeat the Dragons 24-16 on the road, overcoming their spirited opponent despite playing poorly. With just 40% possession they completed at just 56% as 16 errors plagued their momentum. There were some positives though, making 9.4m per carry and 7 line breaks highlight the power they possess.
The Warriors need to win this game to keep their slim Finals chances alive. Neither team has team changes which will dramatically impact their performance so, there is a strong indication that they can be taken on their most recent form. Failing to close out the match with authority last week, the Broncos reality check might serve them well here. The Warriors, upset last week, face a tough task on the road. They have been inconsistent this season and letting a game like that slip away, with their Finals chances on the line, would be most disappointing for this team. The Broncos are strong favourites and should win comfortably but considering the chance that lingers for the Warriors, taking them with the large line is the preferred option in a tricky game to predict.
Newcastle Knights vs Gold Coast Titans
McDonald Jones Stadium – Sunday 13th September – 1:45pm (EST)
The Knights made a positive statement on the eve of the Finals with a commanding 56-22 victory at home over the Bulldogs. While they would’ve been disappointed that they conceeded5 tries, they were dominant scoring 10 of their own. Dominating possession (58%) and having a positive completion rate (75%), this lead them to make 9.3m per carry, 13 line breaks, and 469 PCM’s. They get into the Finals but now must focus their energy to performing well next week. The Titans also made a statement with a commanding 58-0 road victory over the Tigers. Controlling possession (59%), they made 9.4m per carry, 593 PCM’s, and had 10 line breaks. This lead to them scoring 10 tries and carry plenty more momentum towards the Finals.
This is undoubtedly the ‘match of the week’ and a great indication of the execution and intensity which is ahead in the Finals. The Titans receive two huge boosts with the return of Hippi and Rimoni to their starting side. This strengthens them on both sides of the ball and will make things difficult for the home side. Rightly listed as favourites, they should be winning this contest. The Knights have a habit this season of sticking with their opponents, regardless of the result. With an average loss margin of 7.2 points, the Titans (average win margin of 21.8 points) may be pushed further than they would want. Then again, with a week off next week, they will want an intense match to prepare them for what is to come in the Finals and this game could be closer than most think, bringing the line into consideration.
