AFL Daily Fantasy Lineup Tips: Round 22 Sunday Slate
AFL Fantasy Round 22 Sunday: Where to Attack?
The Suns have been absolutely deplorable in the back half of the season, losing their last nine straight games, but they have actually managed to stay relatively stingy when it comes to fantasy points allowed across most positions. The Giants have been similarly restrictive, making this the least appealing fantasy game on the slate. If there's one area to target, it's GWS key and general forwards against an undermanned Gold Coast backline.
The script in the West Coast vs Collingwood game looks much clearer. Collingwood concede more fantasy points to opposition ruckmen than every side except Geelong, while they also allow plenty of production to wingmen and running defenders. West Coast complement that nicely by giving up the most fantasy points in the league to key forwards, putting several Magpies firmly in play.
Carlton have become a much tougher side to score against since Josh Fraser took over, but St Kilda remain one of the highest fantasy-scoring teams thanks to the amount of uncontested possession they generate across half-back. The Saints also allow opposition general forwards and running defenders to score well, creating plenty of options from both sides in the Sunday night clash.
Game Script: I'll be building around Collingwood key forwards and midfielders alongside West Coast rucks, wingmen and running defenders, while mixing in St Kilda defenders and Carlton outside runners before rounding out lineups with a handful of GWS forwards.
AFL Fantasy Round 22 Sunday – Our Value Fantasy Picks
Max Gruzewski ($6,620) As mentioned above, GWS key forwards are the area we're targeting in the opening game and Gruzewski looks the standout value option. He has shown he can produce when he hits the scoreboard, posting 80 fantasy points the last time he kicked three goals, and he gets another favourable matchup against a depleted Gold Coast defence.
Hugh Boxshall ($7,560) He had his hands full with Isaac Heeney last week, but this shapes as a much more favourable matchup. His tackling floor has been excellent throughout the season and he showed his upside with an 83-point performance against North Melbourne a few weeks ago from 17 disposals and six tackles.
AFL Fantasy Round 22 Sunday – Our Mid Priced Fantasy Picks
Oliver Florent ($12,360) Florent is quietly putting together the best season of his career in his first year at Carlton. The fantasy ceiling hasn't quite matched his form, but this is an ideal matchup against a St Kilda side that allows running defenders and outside players to accumulate. He scored 105 when these teams met earlier this season and comes into this game after another strong performance.
Daniel Rioli ($10,090) Rioli's price has dropped significantly after spending years as one of the premium fantasy defenders, making him an intriguing value play. He posted 89 fantasy points against the Giants earlier this season from 23 disposals and six marks, and his ability to find uncontested ball always gives him tournament-winning upside.
AFL Fantasy Round 22 Sunday – Our Premium Fantasy Picks
Nick Daicos ($17,840) There's no reason to overcomplicate this one. Daicos had 126 fantasy points when Collingwood faced West Coast earlier this season and continues to produce elite numbers week after week. Averaging 119.6 for the season and 112.7 across his last five games, he's only failed to crack triple figures twice all year and is once again the premium player to build around.
