Geelong Racing Tips: Wednesday April 22nd 2026

April 21st 2026, 12:37pm, By: Brendan Bunworth

Geelong Racing Tips

Geelong will host midweek thoroughbred racing this week in Victoria and gallopers will be provided a Good track for racing. WIth little to no rain around this week the tracks have dried out a little which will suit horses that like running on top of the ground. The first of 8 races starts at 1pm (AEST) and the last race concludes at 5:05pm (AEST). My best three bets of the card are below!

And if you’re after a new sportsbook to try out this week, consider joining Next2Go – one of the hottest new bookies in the industry.

Geelong Racing Tips: Wednesday, April 22nd 2026

Race 1: Ladbrokes MegaMulti 3yo Handicap 1125m - 1pm (AEST)

(8) Marsept looks the one here and could set us up to have a play later on in the day with some early winnings. The Hawkes trained filly was very good at Caulfield when a close enough 2nd (1L) and this race looks to be several lengths easier. Over 1200m she settled on pace and battled away very well with Jye McNeil on top and he is staying on here. Was very impressive winning a Werribee trial previous to that effort. Should be winning.

(5) Upolu has run 2nds on Dry ground and conditions suit. The Jamie Edwards trained gelding won a jumpout at this track on April 15 and his stable does go well at Geelong.

(4) The Botany Frog has only had the 1 start for a 4th but did also win a trial at Geelong on April 2.

(8) Marsept WIN

$1.55 (5 units)

Race 7: Paul Kelly Creative Handicap 1525m - 4:30pm (AEST)

(12) Justique has drawn wide in 11 but did win very easily 2 starts back at Geelong. On that occasion the filly led all of the way and from barrier 11 you would think Craig Williams will try the same tactic. Was 4th last start at Lakeside but drops 2kg for this race in what is her 3rd run for the prep.

(10) Delta Sky loves Dry ground and has been freshened for this race. She hasn’t won in ages but ran on very well 2 starts back at Pakenham for 2nd. Was in a hard race last start at Caulfield and wasn’t disgraced when 7th. Drawn well in 3 and may get the run of the race.

(11) Move The Torana is hard fit and goes well on Good tracks. First try over this distance but likes running at Geelong. Been in the money 9 of  17 starts and Fred Kersley knows him well.

(12) Justique WIN

$2.80 (3 units)

Race 8: Rex Gorell Volkswagen Handicap 1125m - 5:05pm (AEST)

(2) Barbaric Lad has drawn wide (10) for the Freedmans but did win a jumpout on a Dry track at Cranbourne on April 6. Has run 2 2nds at Geelong previously which included a good effort on November 26 where he ran on very well for 2nd for Jamie Mott. Mark Zahra is on and has placed on top previously.

(7) Honour Galore has drawn wide in 13 and will appreciate another Dry track. Hasn’t won in more than a year but has won over this distance before. Its his 5th run for the prep and the Cliff Brown stable will want to pick a race up before he spells again.

(4) Wingsandpropellas has won 3 from 4 starts on Dry tracks and is over the odds at $9.00. Does have to carry 60kg but did so when winning last start for Brad Rawiller. Up in class but is going for 4 wins in a row.

(2) Barbaric Lad Eah-Way

$6.50/$2.20 (1 unit)
