Sandown Hillside will host midweek racing in Victoria this week and with more fine weather on the way, gallopers will run on another Good track. Race one will start at 3:05pm (AEDT) for the two year olds and my first of three bets comes up in race two on the program which starts at 3:40pm (AEDT) and will be run over 3000m. Jumps champion Stern Idol returns to Hillside for his campaign and racegoers will be keen to see how he goes on the flat.
Brendan Bunworth brings you his best bets and Quaddie selections for Wednesday's program at Sandown below, with odds thanks to Dabble!

Sandown Hillside Racing Tips: Wednesday, March 11th 2026
Race 2: Thoroughbred Club Of Australia Handicap 3000m - 3:40pm (AEDT)
(2) Suffolk Star is a proven stayer who has won over this journey previously. He is a lot better on Dry ground which he gets and the only real concern is that he does his best racing later on in the campaign. He has been backed into $3.50 in the last 24 hours which suggests to me that the Paul Preusker stable has him ready to go fresh this time. Last start at Hillside he ran on very well for 5th where he was only beaten 1.7L.
(1) Stern Idol has placed in both starts at this track. Jumps specialist who is more than capable on the flat. John Allen is on and he has won on top before.
(6) Motiver ran once over this distance for 3rd and may try to lead this field. Jumps up 600m from last run and Mitch Freedman has had him ticking over pretty nicely in 2026.
(2) Suffolk Star WIN
$3.50 (2 units)
Race 3: Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives Handicap 1400m - 4:15pm (AEDT)
(1) Test Of Love sat handy and scored the win on February 25 at this track he has won 3 from 5 over this distance. Before that on February 11 he led all of the way at Sale for Jordan Radley who is on top again. Gets a claim and gets a good barrier with 4.
(2) Xarpo enjoys racing on Dry tracks and this is her favourite distance. She sat handy and scored at Caulfield Heath last start and she was favourite on that occasion. Harder here but big chance.
(7) Wise Inlaw gets an easier race compared to his last few. He led and was beaten on Caulfield Cup Day behind Bacash and then was a 4L 4th to Pallaton last start at Caulfield. Back to midweek and another with a genuine chance.
(1) Test Of Love WIN
$3.40 (2 units)
Race 8: Sportsbet Fixed Odds Exotics Handicap 1600m - 7pm (AEDT)
(8) Pula has drawn well in 2 and has in-form jockey Craig Williams on top. She has placed in both runs in this spell and with more fitness on her side the mile looks ideal. Last start she had a poor barrier (11) and was unlucky when 3rd so she should save ground having drawn inside here. She has done all of her racing on Dry tracks and she goes well.
(3) Champagne Jenni settled back in the small field of 6 last start but was too strong late for her rivals at Cranbourne. Has won second up previously and has won 2 of her last 3 starts.
(2) This Time Girl also goes well second up and with this being her second try over the mile, improvement is expected. The winkers go on for this race. Radley gets a 3kg claim for this race.
(8) Pula WIN
$3.80 (2 units)
