Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday January 24th 2026

January 23rd 2026, 2:56pm, By: Brendan Bunworth

Caulfield Racing Tips

Caulfield will host Saturday racing this week and with the mercury tipped to hit 39 degrees on course, it's a morning start time for participants. Race one starts at 11:20am (AEDT) and the last finishes at 4:25pm (AEDT).

The track will be a Good 3 or 4 and the Group 3 Manfred Stakes is the race of the day and that comes up in race eight. It's an open race and Salty Pearl from the Cairon Maher stable is the favourite.

Brendan Bunworth brings you his best bets and Quaddie selections below, with odds thanks to Dabble!

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, January 24th 2026

Race 5: The Mary Bell 1100m - 1:25pm (AEDT)

(4) Declared will get back in this race but he has the ability to run on very well in his races. He comes over from SA with strong credentials and he stormed home to win at Murray Bridge last start over 1000m and going back from barrier 12. He has drawn 3 here so he may settle around 8th in the run and if he gets the opening at the 200m he can burst through. He has won two over this distance but this is his hardest race yet.

(10) Expulsion has Jamie Melham on again and she was the jockey when Expulsion won at Lakeside last start. Unplaced in both runs over this distance is a slight concern but she should get a good run in around midfield from barrier 6.

(1) Salsa Fellow has won 2 from 7 over this distance and he has finished 2nd at this track previously. He has won 3 times before for Mitchell Aitken who stays on top.

(4) Declared Each/Way

$3.80/$1.55 (1U/3U)

Race 6: Vale Durston 2000m - 2pm (AEDT)

(6) Suntora has been doing all of her races on Good tracks and has been racing consistently and looks a big chance again. At her latest outing she was 5th early before running on well for 3rd. She usually gets further back than that and it won’t worry her if she is in the second half of the field in this. Has won over this distance before but this is one of the hardest races she has been in.

(5) Stylish Secret is 100 percent fit now and goes well at Caulfield. His form over this distance is just okay though and he has only won one race in 12 months.

(9) Active Pearl only goes on Dry ground which he gets again. Ran 2nd in both starts over this distance and the quick back up after the Camperdown Cup (4th) may suit.

(6) Sutora WIN

$3.10 (2 units)

Race 10: Sportsbet More Places Handicap 1600m - 4:25pm (AEDT)

(5) Touchdown has won 3 times from 4 starts on Good tracks and is going for 4 wins in a row here. His last two runs were at Caulfield’s other track (Caulfield Heath) and he was odds on when winning on both occasions. It's his first run here after a freshen up and he is the best horse in the race. Back to the mile but that should be no issue. Did miss a trial due to fires recently but the Hayes Team wouldn’t nominate if they weren’t happy.

(6) Narbold is a value Place bet in this. He will get back in the rub but will be running on well. Up to the mile and has more fitness now.

(12) Yes I Know we tipped on here on January 17 when he was an unlucky 3rd. Gets another chance on a Dry track but he hasn’t won on one yet. Michael Dee replaces Jamie Mott.

(5) Touchdown WIN

$2.25 (3 units)
