2025 PGA Tour: Sanderson Farms Championship Betting Tips

September 30th 2025, 3:31pm, By: Andy Rosos

After a brief breather in the schedule for the Ryder Cup, the PGA Tour swings into Jackson, Mississippi, for the Sanderson Farms Championship (Oct 2–5), one of the key early events in the FedExCup Fall Series. Players will be gunning not just for the trophy, but for critical points, status security, and momentum heading into the crux of the season. The Country Club of Jackson will test shot making, patience, and putting under pressure, a perfect storm for surprises.

PGA Tour Sanderson Farms Championship Betting Tips

Country Club of Jackson, Thursday 2nd - Sunday 5th October

Top Picks

Akshay Bhatia ($19/Top 20 $1.95)

He enters as the betting favorite, carrying strong recent form and confidence. His aggressive style suits this kind of setup: he can take advantage of scoring holes and hopefully lean on his ball striking to buffer tougher stretches.

Min Woo Lee ($26/Top 20 $2.20)

The Aussie is flashing signs of life, with a top five finish and an 11th in his two most recent starts. If he keeps that momentum, he is exactly the kind of player who can sneak in under the radar and make noise.

Dark Horses

Mackenzie Hughes ($36/Top 30 $1.95)

He boasts some of the best course history at Jackson, averaging around 68.29 over past rounds here. Combine that with moderate expectations from others, and he is a sneaky guy to keep an eye on.

Henrik Norlander ($91/Top 40 $2.10)

Long odds, but not without merit. He ranks second best in course averages here historically over many rounds. If he can put a few solid rounds together, the payout could be rewarding.

The Field

The field is not stacked with big names, but that is exactly the point. This event is tailor made for emerging players, career resurgers, and guys fighting for status. Many of the leading FedExCup stars are sitting out, which opens the door for lesser known names to step forward.

You will see a mix of fully exempt PGA Tour members, sponsor exemptions, Korn Ferry graduates, and reshuffle or priority category players. Some notable names include Luke List, Cameron Champ, Daniel Berger, and Webb Simpson, all facing pressure to get solid weeks under their belts.

Because of the fall series context, many players here are fighting for points, exemptions, or to solidify their status. That often brings both volatility and opportunity. The leaderboard could see big swings, and some players may tee off fast, while others mount late pushes.

The Course

The tournament is held at the Country Club of Jackson, a private parkland layout that has been the host since 2014. The course underwent redesigns, notably by John Fought, to sharpen its challenge while retaining a classic feel.

It plays at roughly 7,460 yards, par 72, though yardage can shift by tee setups. The fairways are generally generous enough to reward distance, but the trouble lies in the trees, bunkers, and approach angles. Miss your spot off the tee and you will often find awkward lies or blocked angles.

Greens are TifEagle Bermuda, typically firm and quick later in the week. With greens of that nature, controlling spin, trajectory, and speed is critical. Wind too will play a role. While Jackson is inland, gusts or subtle breezes can make club selection tricky, especially on the more open holes.
