Sandown Hillside is hosting midweek racing this Wednesday and there is a bit of rain around the city, so horses who enjoy running on the Soft might produce if the track is downgraded. The track is currently rated a Good 4 but 10ml of rain is expected to fall.
There are a couple of horses here that will have one eye on a Listed race in a few weeks time so it will be interesting to see if they show up early in their prep.
Brendan Bunworth brings you his three Sandown best bets for the day as well as his Quaddie selections below. If you’re after more free tips for this week's key meetings, then head over to our Racing Tips, and help support our content by joining one of the new Australian sports betting sites!

Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 27th 2025
Race 3: Sportsbet Jockey Watch Handicap - 2:10pm AEST
(6) Jennyanydots is capable on both the Good and Soft surfaces and the mare could be forgiven for getting too far back last start at this track when 7th. She was drawn a bit wide that day and she gets the inside here this time so hopefully she can position up midfield on the rail. Will need a little luck but I think she is better than these.
(4) Mckeyla goes well fresh and is first up here. She has placed in better company than this previously but she may need a run if the stable has planned a Listed race in the Spring.
(2) Lovelycut likes wet tracks and gets a chance if it rains a lot before the race. Damien Lane has won twice on top before and he is on again.
(6) Jennyanydots
$2.50 (3 units)
Race 4: Tile Importer Handicap - 2:45pm AEST
(4) Jabbawockeez is a big chance here at double figure odds if the track is downgraded to Soft on race morning. He has won 4 from 13 on the Soft and at Caulfield last start he ran very well (6th) after having little luck. Before that at the same track he ran on strongly from last to finish 7th. He climbs up 600m here to 2400m and I think he might relish this distance for the Dabernig stable. Has poor form at this track though which is an issue, small bet at the odds though.
(6) Karburan is a strong gelding who has 4 runs on the board now since his spell so he should be cherry ripe here. He settles in the few and Blake Shinn is on for the first time which helps. He has won over the 2400m previously and he has been a runner up at this track previously. Hasn't won in a while but he should be in the finish here over a preferred distance.
(3) Elsie May is another who needs it wet. Is consistent and did win at this track on June 18 over 1800m.
(4) Jabbawockeez E/W
$13.00/$3.10 (0.5u e/w)
Race 5: Sportsbet Fast Form Handicap - 3:20pm AEST
(9) Bold Strike is in form and almost got the win at Lakeside last start when beaten a head over 1600m. Rises to the 1800m here and Zahra goes on. He hasn't won in a while but it does look as though he has been crying out for an opportunity over further ground. In his last 5 starts he has only been defeated a total of 7L so one would think he will close up again here.
(5) Farewell To Eire trialled up well but then got too far back last start at Lakeside. Made up late ground there and was only beaten 2L when 8th. The Moody&Coleman trained mare may need the track to remain Good though.
(2) Shiny New Deal led but faded last start (6th) so was a little disappointing. Before that though he ran on well at this track when last on the turn. Reckon he runs well here again but he does need the pace on. Each-Way play.
(9) Bold Strike
$2.70 (2 units)
