Tigers vs Bulldogs Betting Tips

It’s the grudge match these teams have been waiting for, as Lachlan Galvin will play his first game against his former team the Tigers on Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs can’t let the emotion get the better of them, as they need to win to keep pace with the Raiders. The Tigers, with nothing to lose, will be fully up for playing spoiler here today.

Ben brings you his preview and best bets for this clash below and if you’re keen to play along, simply join Neds via this link!

Tigers vs Bulldogs Prediction & Tips: 2025 NRL Round 22

Tigers With a Bullseye on Galvin

The Tigers continued their up and down form last week, as they were obliterated by the Panthers 36-2. After a tight opening 20 minutes that saw zero tries from either side, the Tigers opened the scoring through an Adam Doueihi penalty goal. That would be the last time the Tigers troubled the scorers, as the Panthers ran in three converted tries before half time, before another three in a 10-minute window in the second half, to easily account for the Tigers.

Sunia Turuva was a bright spot for the Tigers, as he continued his terrific form at fullback, running for 262 metres on 26 runs, breaking six tackles. This week, Turuva shifts back to the wing, as the Tigers get a huge boost with the return of Jahream Bula at fullback. Terrell May was once again a workhorse, making 50 tackles, running for 133 metres, busting two tackles and popping two offloads, however it was a rather dismal display for the Tigers, with few positives to come from the game.

With no love lost between Lachlan Galvin and several Tigers’ stars, this game could get very physical early.

Can Kiraz Get the Job Done at the Back?

The Bulldogs come in off a huge victory last week, and I’m not just referring to the margin. I was off the Bulldogs last week, going as far as to say the Sea Eagles would handle them comfortably. Boy, was I wrong, as the Bulldogs dominated the Sea Eagles, winning 42-4. It was an utterly dominant display, with the Dogs running for almost 1000 extra metres, breaking the line 11 times to two, and popping a ridiculous 21 offloads.

It marked a huge return to form for the Bulldogs, who had appeared to be on the decline since their round 12 loss to the Dolphins. There wasn’t a shortage of contributors either, with Connor Tracey running for 307 metres, breaking the line twice, setting up a try, and busting five tackles, whilst Jacob Kiraz was up to his usual tricks, running for 196 metres, scoring two tries with two line breaks, busting 7 tackles and popping an amazing 7 offloads. Lachlan Galvin also had his best game for his new club, with this spine starting to click. Unfortunately for the spine, Connor Tracey will miss the next few weeks with a stomach issue, and it will be interesting to see how Kiraz does at the back for the Dogs this week.

Tigers vs Bulldogs Recent History

The Bulldogs have won the past three matchups against the Tigers; however, the Tigers have won two of the past three at this venue.

The last time the teams met was all the way back in round 9 of the 2024 season at Accor Stadium, where the Bulldogs closed 10.5-point favourites, with a low total of 41.5. It was a tight opening half, with the Tigers leading 14-6 at half time, but it was all Bulldogs in the second half, as they scored 16 points in 13 minutes to take the lead, and never surrender it, running out 22-14 winners.

Expect a Dog Fight in the First Half

The Bulldogs were slated as 8.5-point road favourites on the lookahead, with that moving out to 10.5 at re-open on Monday morning. This is spot on my number, which seems to be happening more and more now at the tail end of the season. I would lean towards the Bulldogs here, purely off the form they showed last week against a dangerous Sea Eagles team. Whilst it could easily have just been an off day for the Manly side, the Bulldogs really put them to the sword, against a team they have struggled with of late. It could be looked back on as the turning point in the Bulldogs season if they are to go on and make the Grand Final this year.

Looking towards the total, and it opened at 44.5. Unders money has come in, with the total dropping to 43.5 at most books. I agree with the move south, with my fair total sitting at 40.5, and with rain about over the weekend, I don’t believe this total is going anywhere but down (unless the weather takes a sudden turn). Both teams have played more unders than overs this season, and with the tension that is sure to be in the air for this game, I like the total to go under here. With the Tigers’ form appearing very up and down, I can’t commit a big stake to this bet, but I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see this something like 6-4 at the half, and the Bulldogs running away at the back end of the second half.

Tigers vs Bulldogs Player Prop Bet: Galvin to Tear Tigers’ Hearts Out

Our Best Prop Bet: Galvin 1+ Try

Galvin has shown he is a very capable ball runner close to the line, however this bet is purely down to the revenge factor. Galvin will want to show the Tigers that he made the right decision, and he will do that by scoring a try and leading his new side to victory.

Lachlan Galvin (1+ try)

$4.50

Same Game Multi: Tigers vs Bulldogs

Leg 1: Bulldogs ML – Doggies should have too much in the end and get the win.

Leg 2: L Galvin (1+ try) – See Best Prop Bet.

Leg 3: S To’a (1+ try) – To’a has had a particularly good season and has consistently looked like one of the better Tigers this year. Has nine tries this season, but none over the past five weeks, and is due.
