Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday July 12th 2025

July 11th 2025, 2:35pm, By: Brendan Bunworth

Caulfield Racing Tips

Caulfield will host nine races on Saturday and there looks to be some value around in a couple of the quaddie legs. Race one starts at 12:05pm (AEST) and with Friday and Saturday looking good on the weather front, gallopers will again run on a Good surface which is unusual for this time of year.

Brendan Bunworth brings you his three best bets for day as well as his Quaddie selections. If you’re after more free tips for this weekend’s key meets, then head over to our Racing Tips here! And if you’re looking to try out a new bookie this weekend, consider joining BetGalaxy!

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, July 12th 2025

Race 2: Sportsbet Race Previews Handicap - 12:35pm (AEST)

(7) Shadhavar was poor at this track before her spell but she has since spelled, trained on and won 2  jumpouts. She has won twice before for Johnny Allen and a key gear change is the nose roll, which is coming up for this race. She has won twice over this distance previously and she has shown that Caulfield is fine for her. Her first up form is poor so I gather thats why Dabernig (trainer) has given her 2 trials before this assignment.

(3) Charcoals will appreciate Dry ground and should get a good run in transit from barrier 3. He was strong to the line to score at Pakenham last time over 1200m so the decrease in 100m here is interesting. Stackhouse is 1 from 1 on top though so that gives us confidence.

(4) Scampi has a big winning chance if the track is downgraded to Soft. He was pretty good last start in a stronger race than this (6th) and before that he scored at Pakenham.

(7) Shadhavar Each-Way

$3.50/$1.55 (1U/3U)

Race 7: Sportsbet Race Replays Handicap - 3:40pm (AEST)

(7) Rheinberg will be pushing double figure odds but with this race being his second 1400m run this campaign I think he will improve sharply for Hayes. He likes this track and was only defeated half a length last start when 4th at this track. A Good track will be key and he has won twice previously at Caulfield. Ben Allen goes on for the first time.

(3) Yellow Sam has won 6 from 12 races on Good tracks and he has won 3 from 6 over the 1400m. He ticks a lot of boxes after winning at this track last start also. Has won 8 from 17 and is going for 4 in a row.

(10) Zou Sensation ran home strongly to score at this track last start and he will want the pace on in this race. Will likely be one of the best finishers again here.

(7) Rheinberg Each-Way

$10/$2.90 (0.5U/1U)

Race 9: Sportsbet Get On Black Book Handicap - 4:48pm (AEST)

(15) British Columbia is third up here and over the odds at 12-1. He is 1 from 1 over the track&distance and despite not having in almost a year, he is better than a double figures horse in this race. When he was younger he showed a lot of promise and he usually races better after his first 2 runs back from a spell. From a good barrier in 4, I think he might settle 2nd outside of the leader.

(16) Until Valhalla won well last start at Hillside after settling 2nd and has since trialled to keep up the fitness. Barrier 18 is a worry but if she gets cover and sits around 4th in the run she is a big chance.

(12) Outta Compton will settle handy again for WIlliams and the consistent Mark Webb trained gelding should get a good steer from barrier 8. Up in class but can’t fault his winning form. Does rise 2kg in weight though after winning over the mile last start at Lakeside on the Heavy.

(15) British Columbia Each-Way

$12/$3.70 (0.5U/1U)
