Caulfield hosts Saturday racing in the state this week with the first race of the afternoon starting at 12:15pm (AEST). After a big week of racing at The Bool, punters must go again here and finish the week with a bang. The track is predicted to be a Soft 5 and the weather is Fine. My best three bets of the day are below!

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, May 3rd 2025
Race 4: Ive Handicap - 1:55pm (AEST)
(1) Nostringsattached will find this race easier than his races last prep and he has race well already this time in with a 2nd at Randwick (beaten .35L) after being well supported. He has won 2 from 3 races over this distance and loves when Blake Shinn is on top. He usually settles midfield and I think he will do so again here with barrier 6.
(4) Kalkallo has barrier 9 and the worry is that he gets caught wide in this. The Maher trained gelding likes this distance and the team have already had a good week after winning the Warrnambool Cup.
(2) Rue De Royale will likely lead this field and will find this race easier than last start when he raced in the Bendigo Guineas (3rd). Beau Mertens sticks with him for this.
(1) Nostringsattached WIN
$2.70 (2 Units)
Race 6: MRC Chairmans Handicap - 3:05pm (AEST)
(3) Immediacy settled 4th and won well at Mornington last start and looks drawn to go close again here with barrier 4. Two starts ago at Flemington he was slow out but made good late ground to run 6th but only beaten 3L and this race is easier than that one. Blake Shinn is on and 2000m looks Immediacy’s go. He has already been backed from $2.50 int $2.20 and I expect more money to come.
(7) Dashing Duchess is double figure odds and she hasn’t won in 8 months but can improve here on the back of a good 5that Flemington in the Australia Cup Prelude two starts back.
(11) Aramco is versatile because he can lead, sit midfield or run on from the rear. Waller trains and Newitt rides and that might suggest he may go forward here because Newitt is a good jockey with leaders.
(3) Immediacy WIN
$2.20 (2 Units)
Race 9: Sportsbet Same Race Multi Handicap - 4:55pm (AEST)
(10) Sunshineinmypocket has drawn barrier 14 but he won from a wide draw at Lakeside last prep after going back early. In this race, I think he drifts back to around second last in the run but he has a powerful sprint on him and he can run over the top of them. By the last race the track might have dried out too which will help his chances.
(7) Hughes will also run very well if the track dries out and he has already won over this distance. He is going for 3 in a row here and he did win a trial two weeks ago as well. He sat behind the leader last start but he won't get that luxury here from barrier 10.
(8) Bigolino is better on wet tracks but this distance is ideal and he does go well fresh. He has won 5 from17 starts and he is over the odds in this.
(10) Sunshineinmypocket E/W
$4.60/$1.80 (1 Unit)
