Dominik Koepfer vs Oscar Otte

A player that I have been keeping a close eye on this year has been Dominik Koepfer. Coming in off an injury layoff and an indifferent end to the 2022 season, Koepfer was ranked 262 in the world when he turned up to the Mexico City Challenger on clay in late March.
After a couple of titles and another finals appearance at Challenger level, Koepfer is back inside the top 100 and continuing to rise. Koepfer looked solid in the Nottingham Challenger, reaching the semi-final, and has shown his ability on the surface in past years.
He faces his countryman Oscar Otte, who has also shown himself to be very proficient on the grass. Otte made his way through qualifying, and holds a 19-12 record on the grass in his career which is a shining light for a player that can be somewhat inconsistent.
It’s been a poor start to the year from Otte, and his ranking has plummeted as a result. I’m not sure that wins over Paire, Riedi and Polmans is enough for me to think he has fully turned the corner.
I’m happy to take the improved form of Koepfer as an underdog here.
