Welcome to our harness racing preview and betting tips for Gloucester Park on Tuesday, June 11th.
Trent Orwin has cast his eye over the meeting and offered his three best bets of the night below.
One horse that has elevated his game in recent starts is (1) Major Artist for trainer Terry Ferguson. A second behind Franco Edward followed by a third behind Theo Aviator in the Group 2 Pearl Classic (2130m) is excellent form. He leads and goes very close. (10) Cyclone Banner is the main danger from behind the leader. He will need some luck to get clear running but I don’t see a strong breeze horse so that should help the cause. (12) Walsh looks the value in the race as his last four starts have been good. He almost beat Patrickthepiranha and was fifth in the Group 1 WA Derby (2536m). Expect him to make one run at them late.

(5) Our Virtuoso has the most gate speed on the front line and he will be trying to cross them at the start. I don’t have a good guide for (1) Dennis’ gate speed. (3) Ohoka Sammy should have a crack for the lead and (4) No More Change will want to be handy but can’t hold out Our Virtuoso. I am thinking that Ohoka Sammy or Our Virtuoso leads. Our Virtuoso will sit outside the leader if unable to cross and was a strong second from that position last time. He was beaten a half-head by Jilliby Jake. Prior to that he was a narrow second to Galante which is good form for this class of race.

I am expecting sharp improvement from (1) All Over Tan from the good alley. Her form is fair, and her last win came over (11) Bettors Angel back in April. She loves the pegs and should be able to run well. (3) Renascentrez will be trying to cross and her chances improve if she can find the lead. Bettors Angel is clearly a strong chance in the race. (4) Nowuseemesmile looks over the odds too because she can finish strongly in this grade.

It’s time for the Group one Queensland Oaks whilst the QLD Carnival continues. The card is filled with 9 races and the feature is the G1 in Race 8, but accompanied by the Group 2 Moreton Cup in Race 9.
