The Suns are unbelievable at home but on the road, they have pretty much been non-existent. They are in a position where a win could see them sneak into the eight by the end of the round if results fall their way. But, a loss and it's season over. They do get some big ins this week, notably Witts, who was outstanding in the ruck prior to getting injured. They are unbeaten at home this season and did beat the Lions in this corresponding game last year by 41 points. This would be a big statement if they were to win, especially given how well Brisbane are playing at present.
The Lions are the form team of the competition at the moment. It sort of crept up on people how well they are going but it was confirmed last Sunday when beating the Sydney Swans in a beauty, albeit the Swans were hit hard by injury during the game, so perhaps Brisbane were a touch flattered maybe? Harris Andrews is out via concussion protocols, so the back line is seriously hit re depth and there are some lively big men up forward for the Gold Coast so I think that battle will be key when it comes to determining the result.
Match Prediction: This should be a cracking game on a number of fronts. Bad blood between the two sides, genuine hatred. Suns need to win to remain in the finals race. Lions need to win to remain in the top two/four race, Suns were poor against GWS...there is so much to play for, especially for them I feel. At home, I think they can cause an upset.
