Best Bet: Race 2 - Sworn Evidence
Good race with a few handy types resuming but Sworn Evidence ran a huge race on debut when 2nd at Sandown. That looks a strong form race for this, and the step up from 1000m to 1300m looks to suit. Soft ground no issue, drawn well and can go one better here.
Best Value: Race 3 - Tavistock Abbey
Weir's horse looks tough to beat but this horse ran 2nd on debut and should only be suited by the step up in distance here. The soft track should really suit given its a Tavistock gelding, trialled well leading into this and draws barrier 1 for a good run. The switch to turf could see him challenge here at $10.

Best Bet: Race 9 - Fifty Fifty
Bolted in on debut in New Zealand before being sold to Hong Hong. Made his HK debut at the end of last season (July) when he travelled without cover on the speed from a wide gate, before letting down strongly to just miss. Should be able to box seat from the good gate here, and looks a great winning chance.
Best Value: Race 2 - Oriental Fantasia
Really interesting move to have this speedster target this race first up at 1600m. Interestingly, he's placed six times from eight starts over the track and distance, despite doing all his recent racing in sprints. Has won three from five when first up, won a trial leading into this, and this isn't a strong field at all. $14 appeals.
