Two Group 1 races headline racing at Flemington on Saturday with the running of the Newmarket Handicap and the All Star Mile. Tentyris is the overwhelming favourite in the Newmarket Handicap, while the All Star Mile is an open affair in 2026 with Pride of Jenni and Treasurethe Moment the current favourites. After winning first up from a spell, Tom Kitten is a close up third favourite for Anthony & Sam Freedman. The track is predicted to be Good 4 and the weather is expected to be Overcast and 21.
Every race has been covered below and there are a few horses at double-figure odds to keep an eye on!

Flemington Racing Tips: Saturday, March 7th 2026
Race 1: TAB We’re On 1100m - 12:15pm (AEDT)
(7) Vangogh Bankcheque is resuming after recent jumpouts when at his latest effort was 2nd of 10 runners where he beat Educated (3rd) on that occasion. We tipped Educated last week and he dually saluted so those formlines read quite well. He is likely to get back in the run and finish off hard on a track where he has placed before.
(4) Military Tycoon has drawn inside up the Flemington straight and he has already won at this track previously. He drew inside in the Group 1 Lightning and finished 7th so the barrier is a concern.
(3) Burma Star has good wet track form but did get back and ran on well ar Flemington when winning on November 4.
(7) Vangogh Bankcheque WIN
$3.20 (2 units)
Race 2: Herald Sun Plate 1000m - 12:45pm (AEDT)
(3) She’s An Artist was favourite and just scored at Caulfield last start. She loves this distance and when Jamie Melham has been on top she has finished first and second. The mare is a proven second up winner and she likes Flemington.
(7) Codigo dropped 300m in distance last start and ran well when 4th behind Verdoux. He does need the pace on in his races and if it is he will be one of the best late.
(9) Verdoux likes this distance and likes Dry ground. Confidence is up after winning at Caulfield 2 weeks ago.
(3) She’s An Artist WIN
$2.60 (3 units)
Race 3: Good Friday Appeal Ottawa Stakes 1000m - 1:20pm (AEDT)
(2) Medicinal was an easy Ballarat winner last start over 1100m and she showed enough zip to suggest that the 1000m won’t be too short for her. She was on pace last time and ransome fast sectionals and though Michael Dee is off after riding his last couple of starts om top, Jamie Melham is on.
(3) SImply Steffi broke her maiden on a Dry track which she gets again and she has the ability to run a fast late split.
(8) Jadzia is on debut for the Begg stable and must be kept safe. Has won her last 2 trials and was backed to win in the first hour of the markets opening.
(2) Medicinal WIN
$2.80 (2 units)
Race 4: Kirin Ichiban Shaftesbury Avenue Handicap 1400m Group 3 - 1:55pm (AEDT)
(4) On Display is resuming from a spell and does go well fresh. The stable will have him ridden quietly from Ben Melham before he does his best work late down the long straight. Won a Cranbourne jumpout 2 weeks ago and likes this distance. Hasn’t shown his best at this track yet though.
(3) Persian Spirit loves Flemington and will get back in the pack here. Was near last at Caulfield last start before running on well for 6th but this track suits him better.
(1) Here To Shock will go forward and try to control the tempo. The worry here is, he hasn’t even placed at Flemington yet after 7 attempts.
(4) On Display WIN
$4.20 (2 units)
Race 5: TAB & World Pool Kewney Stakes Group 2 1600m - 2:30pm (AEDT)
(1) Salty Pearl was solid when 2nd first up after a small freshen up when sitting midfield at Caulfield. Another Dry track suits here and she is a proven winner over the mile. She drops 2.5kg for this race and would have gained more fitness from her latest start.
(2) Sass Appeal is the deserved favourite for Danny O’Brien and has won 3 in a row. Two of those wins have been at this track and she is our likely leader. The worry is if one of her rivals pressure her up top.
(5) Pillow Fight is another horse who likes to lead. She comes over from NSW after just getting run down over 1550m at Canterbury Park last start. Another 50m here but will the same thing happen?
(1) Salty Pearl WIN
$3.00 (3 units)
Race 6: Darley Sires’ Produce Stakes Group 2 1400m - 3:05pm (AEDT)
(1) Zembales stormed home for 4th in the Blue Diamond Stakes and was only beaten just over a length in the end. The colt will get back again but should be too strong late on a track that he has placed on previously. First try up to 1400m but all indications suggest that he should comfortably run the trip. Will want a truly run race.
(12) Regal Ambition was a beaten last start favourite at Ballarat and has only had the 1 start. Jamie Melham takes the ride for the Hayes Team and punters are sure to show interest again after the forgive debut run.
(7) Leopard Shark was too good at Hillside on February 25 but she has a tricky draw to contend with here in barrier 12. Jye McNeil stays on after winning last time.
(1) Zembales WIN
$1.80 (4 units)
Race 7: Sharp EIT The All Star Mile GROUP 1 1600m - 3:40pm (AEDT)
(3) Antino hasn’t won in a while now and the seven-year-old has been mixing his form but his best is good enough to win this on his preferred Dry ground. In a tough race to judge its the double figure odds that have swayed me this way for a small play. Last time he was at Flemington was in the Turnbull Stakes and he flew home for 2nd behind Sir Delus but since then he has finished 8th twice. He has excellent second up form and is drawn for an economic run.
(1) Tom Kitten was back to his best at Caulfield when winning the Group 3 Hefferenan Stakes and the rise in distance should be fine. He should settle midfield and he has won this race before.
(10) Treasurethe Moment was 3rd in the Futurity after leading as favourite. I don’t think she will lead this time and might use a bit of energy chasing Pride Of Jenni who is the likely leader. Loves Flemington though and is fitter than she was in the Spring.
(3) Antino WIN
$12 (1 unit)
Race 8: De Bortoli Wines Matron Stakes Group 3 1600m - 4:15pm (AEDT)
*SCRATCHED* (7) Miss Aria is over the odds despite not having performed well at this track previously. She ran on very well last start for 6th and with more fitness on her side should be on the up again. First up from a spell she was 4th behind Wrote To Arataki and that was a decent run too. Again a hard race to punt on, but she gets me at the odds.
(5) Damask Rose I like better on Soft ground but the swooper is running very well and is the favourite. She is fitter after two runs in from a spell and she will have to hook to te outside with barrier 12.
(11) Ahha Ahha was very good (2nd) when we were on her last start at this track. She has been runner up three times in a row now and the Melham’s have switched, Jamie is off and Ben is on.
Race 9: Yulong Newmarket Handicap GROUP 1 1200m - 4:55pm (AEDT)
(4) Angel Capital is the pick, another at double figure odds but worth a small play. I think back to October 18 where he was 2nd in The Everest and was a little unlucky. Since then he has only had two races and a few jumpouts so has been kept fresh for this. Last start at Randwick he ran on for 4th in the Group 3 Expressway but I don’t think he was fully wound up.
(2) Tentyris has been huge. He will settle right back again and look to swoop them last but there are again some really good horses he has to run past in this over the concluding stages. The three-year-old has drawn barrier 12 which is a good get and he is going for 4 in a row.
(7) Benedetta has drawn well out wide in 13 and has improved in recent starts. Her 3rd in the Group 1 Lightning Stakes last start was eye catching and Jamie Melham stays on.
(4) Angel Capital WIN
$13.00 (1 unit)
Race 10: TAB AustralianCup Prelude 2000m - 5:35pm (AEDT)
(8) Litzdeel is second up from a spell and has won second up previously. Craig Williams was on last start when the mare was big odds and just fair (10th) at Caulfield but she should be a lot fitter this time in. The Danny O’Brien Team is in form and at $12.00 she looks over the odds. Has done well previously in Listed company and from barrier 7 he should get a good run. Drops a kilogram for WIllow.
(6) Point King is first up after 9th in the McKInnon Stakes in the Spring. He likes Flemington and the lightly raced gelding knows how to win having won 5 from 14 starts.
(4) Immediacy likes this distance and has won 4 times on Dry tracks previously. Drops 3.5kg in weight for this which is the key.
(8) Litzdeel WIN
$12 (0.50 units)
